Always check the dimensions when ordering capacitors.
It's definitely going to have to be a vero build.

That's a pretty serious transformer you've got there. Make sure you get caps and resistors that can handle the load.I came home today and found this at my back gate. Now I had a few drinks over Christmas and new year but didn't think I was drunk enough to order a dodgy Dr Who bad guy.

I wonder I'd there's any decent transistors or anything in there to harvest? At least I know I've found the perfect enclosure for my vanity fuzz![]()
Man that matches perfectly!Ugh, it's so good @steviejr92. Welcome to my pretty box stash new mustard friend. I threw the hat I was telling you about in the background. This has been my main cold weather look since my mother knitted it almost 20 years ago. So yeah, had to jump on this enclosure. My next new favorite bass fuzz is gonna look tiiiight. I just realized it's kinda Marvel's Wolverine colors. View attachment 65676

Do you look for specific brands/radio models if you're hunting for the extra-mojo transistors, or do you just roll the dice and hope the radios you buy have something special in them? The UK and Japanese made radios have some really nice transistors in them which is why I'm still picking them up e.g. I've got a selection of oc44s and oc71s to try in a rangemaster and some oc81ds to try in a tone bender. Plus the bonus of knowing they're real, they haven't had all the good ones picked out and they haven't cost me a ton of money.

Funny, such warm colors on that cover and yet the bunny seems a lil bit cold.As soon as @steviejr92 starts providing UV printing services, he’s going to be the go-to for everything enclosure. A guy can always hope, right?
I got something yellow in the mail today also. Rebuilding my collection a little at a time.

There are a few brands that were made in England/UK.Do you look for specific brands/radio models if you're hunting for the extra-mojo transistors, or do you just roll the dice and hope the radios you buy have something special in them?
One of the best bands ever tooThats gotta be one of the coolest covers ive seen...
This is super helpful, thanks! Just what I needed, though, another way to enable my compulsive need to find as many non-Soviet germanium transistors as I canThere are a few brands that were made in England/UK.
After a bit, you'll be able to spot the Japanese build pretty easily.
I e had some Japanese build where all labeling had been removed. I'm guessing skirting import/export duties.
I think we may be reaching the point where there's enough of us doing this that we're driving the price up on each other. I know not was one of you the sniped that GE radio Wednesday.![]()
