"If everyone online built dangerous high voltage circuits, would you?"

Me, apparently yes. You are all a terrible influence.

And my first tayda order after being a mouser/digikey/newark die-hard for years. Very small chance some of it is fake but a very large chance I won't go broke (as fast)? Plus I needed enclosures anyway.

Weber has pretty good kits (I recognize the layout style). Their cabs have pretty thin wood tho...

Another nifty Scientific Uppercut box

Internally, it measures 112x80mm, and not sure what I wanna pop in it 🤔

Got the OctaSwitch a few days ago and not sure I posted it- it's not terribly exciting 🤷🏻. I do need to replace all the LEDs, though. The blue lights cause me discomfort

@DGWVI I bought the Octaswitch used last year since the GigRig versions are insanely expensive. I agree the Octa isn't too exciting but my board has 20+ pedals, so it was a tap dance life saver. I loved combining pedals I would use on one input (chorus, klon, compressor) to just hit one switch to engage a combo. Made my live recording so much smoother. Still dig it for it's simplicity

It's a kit + chassis + transformers from tubeaudiosupply. The small parts seemed higher quality than most others and when I added up the same BOM on amplified parts it was cheaper for the kit.

I think he just included the schematic from Weber (at least it has the Weber watermark).

Wohoo!!! I’m looking at another one, I want to build a 5f6A circuit.
It’s contagious! I’m in the process of liquidating some unused gear and brewing equipment, but have at least 3 maybe 4 I want to build: a plexi style head, a jcm800 style head, an ac30 style combo and maybe a black panel vibroluxe.

The hardest thing for me to find at this point, though is Marshall Plexi/JMP/JCM style faceplates that go to 11!

I'm trying to keep my board under a dozen pedals, and planning on using the Octa to swap different combos similar to what you've described (and, have a "favorite" loop / switch for my primary tone. Opted for this one, as I don't have to worry about menu diving or hidden modes or anything.
Won't get to experience it's full glory until my new pedalboard gets here, but so far the LEDs are my only complaint 😅

Well Valvestorm is selling the Metroamp reverse engineered kits, but they only go up to 10. I bought the chassis and faceplate, doing everything else myself for a JCM800 2203 Superlead 100. I've done a JTM50 Plexi 1987, back in 2011, sounds great but it lives at my friends house now so I'm building another. He didn't buy it, just "borrowed". It's cool, he's my brother by another mother, we grew up together on the same block. BFFs.

1987: Mostly all mustard caps, Plexiglass circuit board of my own design to accommodate made for PCB mustards .... MM Iron. Just go to 10. It's a JTM45 chassis.

I vote black, but white looks really good, too. I'm pretty sure that I'd be switching back and forth between the two colors if I had that on my work bench. I'm going on on a limb and guessing that the enclosure is for a Green Russian?
Ya, the owner said it was in a green enclosure, but the board looks older than that. I’ll have to check the values to find out. Someone already rehoused it, but stuffed it in a 1590bb and it’s shorting out all over the place.

And I need to figure out the pinouts on these old pots. They’re all scratchy and noisy.

Pretty much the reason why I started doing my own layouts. A pity, there's so many great PCBs out there :(
I do it sometimes but I don't have that much time nowadays and in the end, you pay for 5 PCB at JLCPCB when you need one. Of course, I can go and trade them but it is much more hassle. The L5 is also quite a big layout. Maybe in the future.
To be fair I contacted Aion about the shipping price and suggested he could send it like a regular letter in an envelope. His response was to not do it because it could be seen as tax evasion. I respect that so I took my chances.

I’ll keep them in mind when buying chassis and other parts.

But. I need panels that go to 11! That would make my amps 1 louder!! (Seriously though, could you imagine the market for those!)
