Ibby 27 inch scale. Feels great and in good shape. It's a little muted but sings pretty good when you dig in. Hoping new strings help that. But it's really just for practice. Happy to have an acoustic tuned the same as my primary electrics.

I bought a working pedal for a change! Blackstar HT-Dual (plus power supply since it needs 16V), it was just 50€ so I figured I'd see how I like it. Just pulled it out of the package and already a cat hair floated onto it while I was taking the picture. It's a big boy, and with the power supply and how much it draws I probably won't keep it plugged in all the time.

I have no excuse for this behavior.

When friends release a record, you buy it no matter what genre. Moraine - my first and likely only emo record. Congrats, dudes!View attachment 77665
6:30 in the morning, and I'm giving their bandcamp a spin right now! It often sets the mood of the day, so lets see where this goes. Emo can be great. I would say, all genres have something to offer me, but it's often very hard to get past the annoying examples that you get force-fed. And friends' albums are in a league of their own, as it's impossible to seperate them from the humans that made it. You'll pick up things among the music that, in lack of better words, is clinical, to those who just hear the music by itself. Personally I prefer my emo in screamo form (because I like vocals that break down and add texture; blame my formative years' black metal). Still, I dig this throwback to the golden era. I hear a bit of the ol' Tooth & Nail / Solid State music that, for me, defines an era of this type of rock.

Edit: Hah! Even their press release mentions Tooth & Nail.

Had the HT-DISTX. In a pinch, these things can be fitted on a stick and used as a warhammer.

So a year of free updates and support, but what happens after a year? Do you have to put another nickle in the jukebox for it to keep working? Or do the free updates just stop and they tell you to hose off if you need help?

It all sounds so expensive to a retired 68 year old that just wants to putz around with DAW for personal satisfaction....

Is there a senior citizen hobby version?
Reaper!!
I'm no talented producer but I'm using Reaper for all my DAW needs and would highly recommend it especially under these circumstances. It's fully-featured as far as I can tell, with an unlimited evaluation period, open-source and works on all OSs, and a perpetual license is $60 (yes, really).
Some affordable OA47, a germanium alternative to 1N4148, if I am correct. Since the latter is so ubiqui... Ubuqui.. Super common in builds, I though to see what swapping those with these in my current builds will do.
Hook a brother up with the source!!

There's a few 20p packs left in Germany. Even being from the Netherlands, 1/3 was shipment costs...

The guy has a lot of stuff for sale, but I am not sure what else I need from him. Need to do a bit more research to make the shipping costs worth it next time. I don't believe in pixie dust transistors, so I need to figure out what NOS stuff is affordable, fun, and useful. (read: I'd love some recommendations.) Of course I need some cute (miniature brutalist!) Soviet stuff, just for the hell of it But only Communist-priced, not Capitalist.
