Trying to find time to work on projects is way harder than finding stuff to buy haha.

I found a NOS 24” blade to go with my Starrett NOS combo set. Also picked up a compatible blem metric blade made by PEC. I think I want a 4” or 6” double square for pedal sized stuff…

I bought this punch for doing Belton sized octal socket holes. I’m not convinced though, I feel like I may be better off with a rotacut or rotabroach. Any opinions? I’d hate to fuck up a chassis.

The transformers came for my up coming Model T build. 6 weekish turnaround. These are magnificent looking, and weigh a fuck ton. They gave off a freshly varnished scent right after I opened the box which I found stirring... I think I have developed a big iron fetish. I am a transformer size queen lol.

I picked up this Hammond chassis for the T build- 16”x10”x3”. It’s actually a little larger than the chassis for the GT120 build I thought I’d be done with by now, but I think I want to go 20”x10”x3”. The extra 4” length doesn’t sound like much but I think I will need it if I want to comfortably put in a quad bias setup etc.

Last but not least. I’ve had my Metcal induction soldering station for over a year now. It’s been an absolute pleasure to use. I am still on the same tip! I don’t know how many times I’ve accidentally left it on for a couple of hours and I always expect the tip to be fried. It doesn’t look great cold but when I turn it on the tip looks and works like new. I haven’t needed these, the 1mm chisel tip handles chassis soldering etc like a champ, but I figured why not at $12 each. Here’s my original tip along with new 2mm and 5mm tips that came in the mail. If you want to treat yourself, induction soldering is the mutt’s nuts.

Got some Harris HA2 5130-2 from 1984, which are a Harris low slew OP07 alternative as well as 80x OP02s (marketed as a 741 drop in alt)also from 84 still in PMI sleeves. Fun line from the PMI datasheet:

All for around the same price of 072 8dips these days. Don't worry. They will never see a pedal build.
And some Moto 2219As because I keep forgetting they're just fat 2222As and not a lower gain 2222.

Some requisite parts for the attempted salvage of my L4 build. The Traco voltage converter, some 10uH inductors, and SMD 072s, given the fakes that my local offers, no doubt inadvertently.

I’m hoping that I’ve isolated the L4 problem and that building a fresh power supply will fix it. Time will tell, I suppose…holding thumbs.
 
From the moment I saw this on Captain Janeway's desk, then again on Captain Archer's desk, I have wanted one but could never get a hit when I did any searches for it. Finally this week I found it on eBay and won the auction this morning.

If there's any more Star Trek nerds on the list who have yearned for the most awesome whiskey decanter ever, and a prop on STV and STE it's a discontinued Studio Nova from Poland. After searching for STAR TREK STUDIO NOVA WHISKEY DECANTER I did see several others out there on etsy, etc.

Just a great day, I also got my truck out of the shop.... A/C fixed, fuel pump replaced, doors auto-lock again. Yay!

Got a 500VA variac and connected a meter to it. The meter comes on at about 45-50 volts, which is fine I guess. Check out that quality Chinese soldering technique. I may go back in and make those a bit more secure.

This Knipex wire stripper came a few days ago, the first one I ordered was stolen by Trump when it was going through customs.

I have a whole lot of Tefzel, and Teflon wires to strip, and the Engineer strippers I usually use, just were not cutting it. I looked at thermal strippers but the idea of fumes from Tefzel/Teflon seemed like a major bummer. So enter these purpose built bad boys.

These things rock. Fast, easy, consistent, high quality stripping. I was not looking forward to this step but using these it's going fast :)

They work great for PVC pre-bonded wire too of course, but plenty of strippers can do that.

12 12 14 are the ones you want for AWG wires.

My new microphone just arrived!
Not sure how I want to hook it up. I was expecting the coily cable to have 4 wires, not 3. I suppose the two grounds are connected. The green and white wires go to the speaker. Not sure what to do with the red wire?
I guess I will simply connect a male XLR plug so I can keep the cool coily cable.
It'd be cool to also use the carbon mic but it needs a transformer and phantom power and stuff.
