What's your current headache?

Working through the archtop design.. still along way to go and doing some FEM analysis just to get a feeling for it before I start sharpening chisels and planes..

I’m writing this from the parking lot of a 7 Eleven that I just pulled into. I was driving to my girlfriend’s because her mom is doing a charity fundraiser thing tonight for the school she works at, and I was rear-ended pretty hard. Pretty sure I’m fine but my adrenaline is too high to really know. As if my driving anxiety hasn’t been bad enough lately after the handful of recent accidents and close calls I’ve had family and friends in. I think my car is okay, but I’m waiting for my dad to show up to check it out for me.

Take care of yourself, my back never fully recovered from the time I was rear ended and I thought I was halfway ok at first. 16 years ago and I'm still fucked up. Fingers crossed the person who hit you had insurance.

Literal headache. Ever since the accident Thursday night, I’ve been gradually feeling more and more woozy and getting headaches. Initially I thought I was totally fine, but after the adrenaline started to wear off I’ve been feeling kinda off and only like 60% present. When I went to a concert last night (before I started to put together 1 and 1, and realize that the way I’m feeling might be from the accident) I forgot my phone at security and they had to chase after me to give it to me, and then I got one of the posters that the venue sells for $5 using a 10, and walked away before they gave me my change and they were calling after me and I didn’t notice. Idk, I definitely should go to a doctor, but yeah I’m starting to worry that I have a bit of a concussion.

It's not a huge deal, but my work does these annoying "spear phishing exercises" where they make up a suspicious email with a phony link to see who will click on it without paying attention, and they always seem to send them after a long weekend when I'm still tired. Got an email this morning pretending to be from our cybersecurity team saying someone logged into my company account from a Moscow IP address, and I'm supposed to click a suspicious link to "tell them it wasn't me".

If you click the link you fail the test and have to take an extra security training, if you report it to security you pass and get a pat on the back. I'm too tired for this shit, and I have actual work to do.

My wife has stopped falling for those so much these days. PITA tbh.

That sounds extra dumb and annoying.

My work does this. I haven’t failed yet, but I know people that have just because they were inspected the link before opening in a web browser. Boooo

Yeah the people I know that have failed are typically our subject matter experts that are super busy and get a billion emails a day so they don't pay as much attention. I haven't failed yet, but I came close once. I had just come back from a work trip and got a phony email saying there was a problem with my company travel credit card, which was stressful enough to almost get me. But I caught it before clicking the link.

There's a funny one going around where it's sent from " r nicrosoft.com" without the space so it looks easy to mistake as rnicrosoft.com due to the crappy font. One domain to add to the reject/block...

The real headache is are the AI web-extensions and AI operating system assistants. Nothing like the hacker adding a malicious prompt injected in web content or calendar invites (even not in the user displayed headers), and your friendly naive AI assistant then forwards your files, your password credentials, reconfiguring the machine or even using your single sign on to access banking services (!).

Oddly all that is disabled on my machines..

Just realized that the dc jack placement I picked for the Madbean VFE choral reef definitely doesn’t make any sense. As long as the toggle switch is in place, the jack can’t work. Ordered this enclosure last year, and being pre-drilled with double white layer and gloss UV printing, it wasn’t exactly cheap. Guess it’ll make a neat paper weight. Gonna have to order an updated one with a dreaded side mounted DC jack.

I'm learning to drive at 25 in Phoenix. No credit card, no car, no family out here, no close friends.

My office is moving locations. I positioned myself for walk ability.
