What's your current headache?

Wow, I am just discovered a whole new world of fun (NOT) that I never knew existed - the world of endodontists, oral surgeons, and dental implants... I most sincerely tip my hat to those of you that have been through this before.

I'm at the front end of what apparently is a 1 year process. I just spent a long weekend of major tooth pain despite maxing out on ibuprofen AND acetaminophen, followed by endodontic determination that the molar was dead, badly infected, and unsalvageable. So the top of the molar was ground off, the infected interior tissue was ground/drilled out, and then everything was re-sealed so that I now can wait 2 weeks before having it surgically extracted. Down the road lies even more Novocaine, a bone graft, then a dental fixture installation (basically a platinum screw), and finally a crown - with 4-6 month healing periods between each step. The gallows jokester in me is half wondering whether the real reason that the process takes so long is simply to spread out the payments...

Fortunately, as a cancer survivor, I deeply appreciate that I live in an era where treatment exists. What the heck did people think and do in these circumstances centuries ago???
I went through the same ordeal right when covid hit. I feel your pain. I had pretty much the exact same procedure. Hang in there.

fender releasing a $3k single channel amp with the least popular speaker combo in history, no effects loop, panning harmonic tremolo for some reason, and they put tone controls (plural) on the reverb. the reverb, @Robert ... the fucking reverb.
I was going to check out the amp with the intention to come back because some of that reads like hyperbole.

But to my surprise, I somehow literally started getting a headache after reading the description on fender’s website.

So, well put.

The lack of situational awareness people have in grocery stores is astounding to me. am I being unreasonable? I don't get it.

I am always hyper aware of my surroundings to make sure I'm not in anybody's way with my SUV sized cart, and nobody else seems to do the same. They just stand around like they're the only person on the planet and nobody else exists while they decide what XXL bag of chips to get. Or block an entire aisle in a high traffic area paying no mind to other people who might need to get past them. Sone people know they're in the way and do nothing! This seems so discourteous but it seems to be the norm.
This is not an occasional thing. 90 percent of people in every store act like this.

It's maddening. I just left Wegman's so I'm still pissed lol. I'm not a misanthrope but that place really tests my patience and faith in humanity.

Don't get me started on the a-holes who leave their carts in the middle of four parking spaces.

Also, the idiots that back their cars in restricting access to their trunk. You're getting groceries, why?!?!?

I've been trying to find something different to build that's not a boss pedal using parts on hand. I ordered the plaid preamp, the 1991 pedal. On paper it seems like something I would like, a marshall type drive boosted with something Screamerish. The videos out there are mainly playing Pearl Jam so they all kinda sound the same and don't give an idea what else it can do well. I built it up yesterday and am really underwhelmed with it. The knobs have minimal impact on EQ and the drive is pretty inspiring no matter how I try to stack the two gain stages. I also think it could have more volume available. I don't even want to box it up, I think I may just salvage the pots and box caps from it. Maybe I really am done building pedals🤷

Seriously clogged shower drain, along with a couple of other sinks that drain into the same main drain pipe as the shower. I spent hours working on it. Tried almost everything : plunger (hundreds of strokes!), 25ft augur/snake (went almost all the way in, didn't find the clog), boiling water, Drano... What's left? I'll try a big bottle of Coca-Cola left down the drain for 24 hours. If that works, I'll laugh my ass off. But I have a feeling I have to call "the guy". What a humiliation that would be! So much for my (somewhat undeserved) reputation that "he can fix anything". 😕

What's left?

Can you get crystal lye where you are? If it can be chemically cleared, this will do it.
