What's your current headache?

What, don't you verify every address ? What is street view for if not to spy on people ?

I typically check for Facebook Marketplace listings in the general area, look up the home owners name on the local county tax website, then browse any current or past Zillow listings by that homeowner to look for photos of any music equipment in the home.

If all of these tests pass, then the order ships.

Every now and then one slips through though...

But on a more serious note, it’s on the buyer to make sure the entered address is the good one. Some auto-complete will return entirely wrong addresses or just a bad zip/postal code. Same goes with the email... that one got my wife once and it's hard to make corrections once the order is finished.

Edit: Oh also, when you notice an error, don't reply directly to the order confirmation email... most are no reply addresses :ROFLMAO:

It happens, not every day, but somewhat regularly.

It's really no big deal and can usually be corrected fairly easily... it's the "So, what do you plan to do to fix this?" attitude that bugs me.

You know, it blows my mind that Gmail doesn't alert the user that they are replying to a "no reply" email address...

It is on the buyer.

That said, happy to be the default shipping address on the order form!
Pardon me for answering a question with a question....

If one enters the wrong address at checkout where do you think the shipment will be delivered? And is it the fault/responsibility of the shipper when the package arrives in a timely manner at the address that was entered incorrectly?

Maybe this should be a poll instead. :ROFLMAO:

*Reenactment of customer interaction with Robert. This will be included in my new screenplay: Hell on Earth: Karens and Customer Service*

Oh, absolutely, I totally get it—my bad for placing the order after a couple of glasses of wine and entering my old address from five years ago. Clearly, that’s on me. But here’s the thing: yes, I knew the package was going to the wrong address the second I hit "confirm." And yet, I still don’t see why you, the company, can’t just send me replacement boards.

I mean, honestly, what kind of customer service is this where I’m held accountable for my own actions? It’s not like I can physically go back in time and fix it. So, really, this is on you now. You have my actual address now—just ship me another set of boards, and maybe we can all move on with our lives. Sound fair?

My soldering station took a dump after four years.., Not bad for $60 though… so… I ordered a Hakko FX951.. sucks I have to wait a week to finish builds though
Headache now but it will be a great feeling when you fire that bad boy up and finish those builds. Unless you get sent a defective Hakko! :ROFLMAO:

The main reason I went for the Weller 1010 is it was next day delivery on Amazon.

Dumb drama between my friends. It's pretty upsetting, I've known these dudes for over 25 years. They are like family. It could look silly trying to explain it, like a math word problem, but I'll take a shot at dumping my garbage out on a pedal forum.
  • My friend (A) calls me, and tells me he got married! This was totally unexpected.
  • He married our friend's (B) wife's best friend.
  • But then explains that instead of celebrating it, friend B's wife is pissed at the newlyweds (her best friend and friend A) because of some invented problem, and friend B just goes along with it. So they are not talking.
  • Since friend A didn't have a place to stay in town after that, I invite friend A over and we celebrate their new marriage.
  • After that, friend B's wife texts my wife and invites us for a family get-together. But then she ghosts my wife the day of, which by extension, also ghosts my son who was excited about going. This is the 3rd time in a row friend B's wife ghosted my wife. She responds with a lie that doesn't add up... maybe she thinks we're stupid?
Today was the day we would have celebrated friend A's birthday at friend B's house. It's just upsetting that people create shit like this. Instead of celebrating their friend, they are judging them. Friend A is hurt, and friend B is acting like nothing happened.

My wife and I have a long history of cutting bullshit out of our lives. People who lie, manipulate, play victim, play games... That has worked great for our well-being. I hope things don't come to that though.

The thing that ticks me off is Websites without a flexible-enough entry system.

For example, N.American phone number field of area code and number:
"(###) ###-####" , but...
"(###) ####-####" <— My Hong Kong number doesn't fit and the auto-fill-in-web-bot only accepts 3 digits after the area code, not HK's extra digit.

When I first started building pedals, pre-PedalPCB, and was ordering PCBs from GuitarPCB, Barry and I had a super-shitty time ironing out the address, because:
THERE ARE NO POSTAL CODES IN HONG KONG.
Barry's order system couldn't handle that, the shipping companies' systems couldn't handle that — I don't know how Barry managed it, but he found a work-around so I could buy stuff from him — every time I ordered from him, though, I was a thorn in his side. However, despite his work-around...

I kept having to add addresses to my PayPal account, trying to hit upon one that worked. Now, to this day, I've still got about 35 addresses to choose from for my PayPal account at point of sale (some to addresses in the US, Canada — but mostly variations of my HK addresses).

Don't expect any PayPal issues to be resolved, is what I've come to understand.
NO amount of "help" from PayPal can get rid of those addresses (I've already deleted what I can through "managing my account") — all the addresses in the "Managing My Account" have been deleted, but at point of sale they still come up, I still have a plethora of addresses that are redundant, incorrect, or both that I must wade through to get to the correct current address. And yet...

Right now, PayPal can't fathom that I've moved overseas, when I go to enter my new CC# and its associated address in Canada, PayPal defaults to locations in Hong Kong and I can't get my new Credit Card accepted — everything worked with my first Canadian-CC, but when it came time for CC renewal, Canada Post lost my CC and the bank had to issue a new one with a new number — So why was PayPal able to accept the first Canadian CC and not the latest? 🤷‍♂️ PayPal-Borg says "open an(other) account". WHY? I HAVE AN ACCOUNT !
Useless sacks of bloated synthetic-protoplasm.

Used to be you could contact a human-being and get problems straightened out.
Now that everything is automated for our convenience, if you're outside the parameters just a smidge then nothing works, and more and more people are falling through the cracks of a rigid system.

It’s like a soap opera

This kind of stuff seems to happen often. We have cut a bunch of people out due to it also.

For thanksgiving a family member asked us to reach out to their ex husband and invite them so he would be with the kids. They were then passive aggressive towards each other all night and the person that asked us to invite them called my partner the following week and gave her a bad time about inviting them like it was our idea. The way some people navigate their lives is extremely baffling.

What is B's wife's invented problem?
Alright, here we go.

Yeah, I get that seems dismissive. My intention was terseness. ResDef’s wife was mad because she believed her friend was manipulated into getting married. Which is interesting because it was initiated by her friend, not Value.

Having them over, it was clearly not the case. Team Value talked about how upset they were about it. I went to Team ResDev’s house last night, and they were being withdrawn, weird and not talking about it.
