Yep, a fair reaction. I thought my relay driver ICs were high-side drive but it turns out they're low-side drive. So I had to disconnect both coil pins from each relay (20 of them) and wire the positive side to the positive voltage rail and the negative side back to the PCB pad the positive side had previously been connected to. It was not fun to do.

well currently ive got a MkIII on breadboard and was planning to check out the burns buzzaround, which ive just learned is about a couple mods away from the elka dizzy tone, so when i get a chance to make some noise ill do it

I got my two tone working. I ended up replacing;
Bias with B100k
R7 with 20k trimmer (at basically 20k)
Q1 48.7 / 63uA
Q2 49.6 / 64uA
Q3 79.8 / 184uA

Those were definitely not the transistors I was using to begin with. I had been using much higher leakage in Q1, settled on what I thought sounded good but found a post suggesting low leakage for 1&2 out of left field, tried it and it was much better.

I see.

When you say bias correctly, since there is no trimmer on this PCB your talking about having the correct leakage range on the transistors to elicit the proper voltage?

Also, in post #9 of this thread @DeadAirMD reports a great sounding pedal using GT402's from SBP which on their page lists "Most of these are very low leakage, anything leaky or unstable has been sorted out." It also says that "Leakage is below 300uA." What is considered "leaky?"

Got a new-in-box film series set and they've all got various degrees of disc rot. So much for investing in physical media (granted the set is over a decade old, but still.)

It is definitely a motivator; however, my bench time is curtailed with spring household stuff. So, it may be a week or so before sit back down in front of it.

While waiting on materials, I figured I’d make some clean labels for a batch of antistatic bags keep things organized. I borrowed the idea on some of Ginsly’s stickers (don’t tell him).

Sixteen test sheets later, all total garbage. Depth was off, lines were straight but sporadic depth. I tried everything like new blade, new mat, different work surfaces, firmware update and nothing worked.

My wife walks in while I’m swapping blades and says It’s not locked in. I roll my eyes, I push it and clicked. She reaches over pushes it harder and CLICK.

She’s never used in and fixed it in 20 seconds…..

3 different parts orders, 3 different USPS issues.
Small bear order shipped in a tube. 100x 1458s evacuated the tube along with 140 bjts. Seems someone put clear tape over it at some point. Waiting on a reply.
1 eBay order just vanished with no tracking.
Another eBay order was scanned in at USPS Thursday and a few minutes later scanned as delivered-picked up by customer at post office. Seller shrugged it off. This lot hand a few handfuls of corning nasa capacitors in it and I got it for a song.

I'm not sure how small bear shipped this. Maybe they just popped the caps in the poster tube and sent it? But it arrived at half it's shipping weight so I think everything shipped initially.
