What's better than one Glory Hole?... Two! ...so I need to ask this

I'm planning on putting two Glory Holes in same enclosure and I built one of them with D9E clipping diodes to give it a different flavor for stacking. I'm not setup for doing order switching so which would you put first? Germanium clipping pedal first or second and why?
 
I'd put the germanium one first. I think it would have more compression, and would prefer to have more headroom in the 2nd drive.

I'm struggling to picture the logistics of a double-glory-hole sword-fight.. Wouldn't both swords be "sheathed" in their respective holes and thus, incapable of clashing? I donno, I spend too much time alone to get into fights

*Less importantly though, all you need to be "set up" for order switching in regular a circumstance is a 3pdt toggle, assorted lengths of wire, and yet another hole.

If you make D1-D4 germanium, the leakage will kill the gain. Russian Ge diodes are particularly leaky. It's not just about Vf. The other considerations when chosing clipping diodes are leakage and forward resistance. In the Bluesbreaker derivatives (GH is a BB at its core), there is a resistor (R6) in series with the diodes which will swamp any diode resistance.

Here are some suggested options:

Door #1: D1 & D4 = 1N4148, D2 & D3 = Ge. D1 & D4 will prevent leakage from the other two from killing the gain. Total Vf will be around 0.8V
Door #2: D1 & D4 = BAT41, D2 & D3 = Ge. D1 & D4 will prevent leakage from the other two from killing the gain. Total Vf will be around 0.6V
Door #3: D1 & D4 = 1N4148, D2 & D3 = jumper. Total Vf will be around 0.6V

Each of these options will sound different.
 
My son is at that age where he and his girlfriend are planning their futures together, so for birthdays we like to give him stuff for his future house needs - the basics like pots and pans, toaster, towels - so he says we are buying things for his glory hole. He won't be corrected.

Where did we go wrong?

Maybe it means something else to the young 'uns in Oz. What about his future wife? What does she make of it?

How is it that none of these posts have been reported?

Oh no, it means the same thing alright and he knows it! His girlfriend just shakes her head. In her eyes everything he says is hilarious and right.

Recently the future mother-in-law was making hints about whether girlfriend might be trying to get pregnant - as mothers-in-law do. So my son says to her "Oh no it's ok - we only do butt stuff."

I really don't know where this depraved sense of humour has come from. 😮
 
Actually she really is! Man, the way they look at each other... They are forever giving each other crap and laughing giggling the whole time. I remember what it was like to be happy.
