Screw it...I pre-ordered one.

The cool thing about this is that Mike is proving that the KoT isn't really all about "magic" components...which he more or less says in the video as well. It's more about attention to the quality of the components and getting the desired output. Nothing "magical" about that.

So it appears that Mike is doing the one thing that I think other boutique builders need to do...which is to take the circuits they're known for and make them more accessible to the average guitarist. This new pedal is the right step in that direction. However, I don't think Klon is gonna do this. Flanagan seems way too focused on the "magic" of it all.

I have a feeling we might see more Analogman stuff being adopted by MXR. I could see a full dual-drive version of this that mimics the KoT at some point.

I doubt there's a boutique builder out there that would turn down a contract with MXR if offered.

The problem is that MXR already has a Tubescreamer.

Well, it depends, right? MXR is one of the few companies that can attract boutique builders. The reason is down to one guy: George Tripps. He was a boutique guy himself so he knows all about what would attract builders to MXR. They're doing it the right way it seems.

I'd imagine most boutique builders would be more than happy to work with Boss, MXR, DOD, TC, EHX, etc....

I doubt anyone who will goop a circuit, sand an IC part number, or tell you a particular diode is "magic" would have a problem working with a big corporation given the opportunity. I mean why not?

It's not exactly easy to get either. I tried for a few weeks in a row to hit that little Wednesday release window to buy one before I found all you guys and my life changed....... .

I only ever got as far as getting one in my cart then it ghosted as I was paying......grateful now though!

I used to get braised hare at a Moroccan spot where you sit on pillows on the floor and they wash your hands with rose water. Pretty delicious. Wouldn't say it tasted like chicken but it had enough complexity going on that I couldn't say if it tasted like hare either.
