“Get those little gonads chopped” “meow meow meow” this is the greatest thing I’ve ever heard. Thank you for introducing me to this 😎

I've been known to do it as a solo bass thing at open mics with a big slide bass scratch interlude in the middle. That'll teach those guitar players to pass on playing a set with me!

I'm not much of a bass player but I sure do have much respect for them! I picked up my gf's bass the other day and my fingers blistered immediately :ROFLMAO:

There was a beater upright at my friend's jam space for a few years and I used to be able to just walk over there on Friday nights and jam until I couldn't. I have an EUB at home but it's not even close to the same abusive experience. ;)

Here's two clips from our gig last saturday...I use PedalPCB's ARACHNID in both songs!

The first half of this is basically a jam around the Montreal Assembly Count to 5 where I mess around with its pitch & long delays...

I’ll play. The following is a playlist of my greatest hits, all done within the last 2 years, all with a $15 usb mic and Audacity. I make no excuses: they are rough, off key, poorly produced. I tend to lose patience the longer it takes. Lots one one takes, etc…

Enjoyable stuff! Thanks

Playing around with guitars, electronic drums, DOS-level MIDI and effects in the early-90's . . . . .

Then later, that same week in the early-90's . . . .
(This one was inspired by the very first "appearance" of Mr Snuffulluppugguss on Sesame Street (Nov 1985) whilst my first born was sitting on my knee as we watched him make his entry in public view. Big Bird had only ever talked about his friend and it took 15 years before the large purple critter to show up. They way Mr Snuffulluppuguss sauntered onto the set inspired this laid-back jazzy piece.)

I recently revisited this recording one of my old bands did 10 years ago. We went to a professional studio I had recorded at in a previous band. Turns out their console was down for repair and had been shipped off, so the guy offered to record us to 8 track cassette. This never got released in any format and I decided to chuck it up on our bandcamp last night. I can't believe i found the login for that. Shortly after this was recorded, we kicked the singer out, and the other guitar player followed. We later re-recorded the first song (also on the bandcamp page) with a different lineup

The first two pedals I ever made were on this recording- an LPB-1 to boost my JCM 800, and a green Russian big muff that my wife used on bass. This is pretty much a perfect bass tone for heavy music

I didn't know there was a thread like this!

I've been in a couple of small bands, but last year I released the first EP of my solo project. I say solo, but I just made the songs with rough demos and the vocalist did all the vocal melodies and lyrics, bassist came up with bass lines and drummer with the drums - plus a guitarist friend did a couple of solos. I only really played rhythm guitars.

Also a snazzy website at https://ikitalvi.band if you want to read the lyrics in, uh, Finnish.

I did all the recording, mixing and mastering myself, and I might be interested in doing some free quick and dirty mix/masters for rock stuff just for fun and practice if someone needs a hand. Or at least if I happen to like the music 😅

Oooo what a fun thread to be resurrected! I used to jam pretty regularly with a coworker of mine who played drums, but he moved away a few years back and a good drummer is seemingly hard to find. These days I've been getting into recording at home. It's all super new to me but it's been lots of fun figuring out and actually having a place to put all the noodles that I've been playing around with.

I made this one a little while back after messing around with the Boss SY-1 for a bit. That pedal is basically video game music in a box, so this kind of naturally just came out of it. I added the little drum track using the Snare Trap from Rainger FX (with the Lossy plugin on it), and then put together that little synth lead line using a keyboard.

This one is more recent. I started trying to record my acoustic as well, so that's just plugged straight into my interface with a smidge of a low-pass filter on it, and then the lead guitar has the Chase Bliss Gen Loss on it as well. I feel like this one would benefit from some kind of backing drums too, just haven't gotten around to adding that yet.
