What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Have you tried these out yet? I got a set and found them to be fairly useless. They cut well but the sizings are not useful, either too small or too large for all the usual components. Back to the step bit.
I did use them today for the first time. I'm not using them to drill the hole. Only the pilots. They do tend to not wander as much as a regular bit and stay in the punch hole better. But if the punch is off then so is the pilot hole and so is the pot hole hahaha

No- they’re from God City instruments (Kurt Ballou), and designed by Nick Williams of Dunwich Amplification. God City Studios is a recording studio in PA (or is it MA? I already threw the envelope out), and they started making PCBs and guitars under the GCI label, most notably the legendary Brutalist Jr. business card PCB.
I need to look more into this! Thanks for letting me know!

God City:
-CTG (250, DS-1, and JFET clean blend all in parallel)
-Bass Overdrive (Dunwich Olde Dirty Bass/ modded boss odb-3)
-Apostle (Matamp gt120 preamp)
I thought the dunwich was a bass OCD? I love the Dunwich while I absolutely loathed the boss so I would be shocked if there was significant similarity. It's unfortunate because my odb3 was a gift from my brother. I did not have use for it though.

I'm definitely interested to hear how you like the CTG when you get to it.

Well I know the N.E.W. bass overdrive PCB from GCI was designed by Nick from Dunwich (hence N.E.W.), and the controls exactly parallel those found in (some versions of) the Dunwich Olde Dirty Bass… which abbreviates to ODB. Plus the dirtbox layouts page says it’s based on an ODB-3, though that doesn’t mean much. http://dirtboxlayouts.blogspot.com/2021/05/dunwich-amplification-bass-overdrive-diy.html?m=1

Honestly I thought there was something elsewhere more reliable saying that it’s a heavily modded ODB-3, but I can’t seem to find it, so an OCD is just as possible without seeing a schematic.

Salem, MA. ‘Tis the season, and all that, I suppose. GCI has some really good circuits…

I can finally clear my bench of all the projects going at the same time. Never again! Going back to one and done, the chaos of having multiple is driving me crazy.

Huge Stompbox order with all the missing parts. Thought I’d try out their custom colors as well. Burken Blue and Wine Red. The pic doesn’t do them justice as they look red and blue but in person they are not just red and blue. Very cool.

Also, this power module @Robert made is insanely epic, Allows you to dial in the HV from around 100v to over 300v and the trim pot is perfect, can literally dial in to the exact voltage. Very stable voltage output as well. This is going to come in handy for tube bread boarding. Just be careful! Zzzzzzt.
