Cool mail today!
I got two orders of Ge diodes in from SmallBear taking advantage of the sale and the the availability of a pretty darn good selection of NOS diodes that aren't Russian, hahaha. (Nothing against the Russian diodes, but for a while there it was all I could get)
But the coolest is a trio of custom boards from @MattG!
These are hybrid through hole and SMD boards. He was even kind enough to send me the SMD components!
Since I don't have an easy bake oven like @fig I'm going to take a shot at hand soldering these.......

But some cool boards, Matt's take on the BuffaloFX TD-X, Colorsound Overdrive, and Barber Gain Changer.
Super stoked about building a DIY Barber drive!!!

1206 parts are super easy to hand solder once you've done a few, I don't even bother to break out the magnifier for those. And for me at least, they are often easier to swap out than through hole ones installed in plated through pads. Plus they come in tighter tolerances more or less by default. You'll do fine, I'm sure.

Ironically a few weeks ago that happened to me and I checked the neighbors mailbox (right next to mine) it was in there so I grabbed it. Mail carriers sometimes do that.
Hopefully whoever it was will return your box to you.

What kind of tubes and what are they going into?PedalPcb, Stompbox Parts, and Amplified parts all showed up today.
Tubes, Jewels, pots, and other randoms to wrap up the year. Equilux almost done.

A 12ax7 and a 12at7. Have two tube builds in process. Still working out the breadboard values but my goal is to have them finished before Xmas. Lol.

But that will be after I finish 2 pedals, as I also received a Tayda order yesterday… (which was quite fast using Thai regular post)
Edit: that Thonk order was also really fast. 6 days from UK to CAN using their regular service (last few ones were 3 weeks).
Edit 2: the module is a Roland System 100M 140 ADSR enveloppe from Feedback Modules

Yup, that's exactly why I used 1206, for easy hand solderability. Though, as I told Mike in a PM, these days I prefer to use solder paste and a frying pan as a poor-man's reflow technique. If the paste is applied with care, the result is very clean, like it was made by robot. I find that oddly satisfying. Also, it's fun to watch the components auto-align due to surface tension when the solder paste turns molten!
However, on that particular board - I used the SMA footprint for the 2n4148 clipping diodes. I didn't realize how small those would be! Even with my fancy lighted magnifying glass headband, I could barely make out the anode marking on them.
And then when I built up the board and the clipping/overdrive didn't work at all, my first thought was that I destroyed those diodes while "frying" them... Turns out the diodes are just fine, I just left off the four components that go to ground in the clipping stage!

I didn't know that the Equillux bits would show up in the store when i ordered mine so I threw another small order together. Obviously the bits, dual pot insulators, trimmits, Fuzz aldrin and percolation station. Gonna get perky with my topographer and I've heard so many good things about the screwdriver in this forum it was an easy addition.

I honestly haven’t checked to see if there was anything for me in the mail the past few days, heh 
Probably has been since I had some J113s on the way from someone, an echo foxtrot and space heater on the way from Sushi Box, and a replacement for the funky switch from LMS, plus some early Christmas gift shopping I did. If any of them came already, I’ll find out tomorrow and I’ll be sure to post pics.

These are the ones I got from Amazon....it's a bit cheaper since there's no shipping for me. They've actually worked out quite well but they do have a long barrel. Still, they give you an extra nut to set the depth and it's workable as long as you're not trying to sneak it in under a board or something.
