What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

I've been working in batches of 4 lately but time is hard to come by so it's usually build them, wait a couple weeks and box them up and start the cycle again a few weeks later. I'd never drop 20 at once though😮‍💨
Yeah that 20 in three days drained me, even with the manic state I've been in. But, it's helped clear out my stash of boards and build things I don't necessarily care for. I only work part time, and don't have any other obligations beyond the cats, so time is something I have a surplus of until I move in a couple months

I haven't had a surplus of time since I graduated highschool 20 something years ago so I don't even know what I would do with myself😭 I still can't imagine doing 20 in 3 days. Makes sense you are getting rid of things you don't even like, I figured you hated guitar and music with some of the stuff at the bottom of your stash.

It's mostly a combination of being picky, stubborn, and afflicted by option paralysis :ROFLMAO:

Update on my friend's Kustom, a few days ago...

These carbs are to go on the engine... but those plans may change.

Body off the frame, the engine about to be pulled so the chassis can get media-blasted.

While I was away, the Ford fenders were grafted to the Chev nose, and are also going to get blasted.

Today the cab was tilted back and I was tasked with cleaning up the underside:

Had to do some welding, my second time ever, and ... wow I suck at it.

First time welding I was tacking together square pipe much like you see on the bottom of the cab.
Today I was tacking together sheet-metal and ... it's a whole different thing trying to get thin metal to melt together with other thin metal.

So, lotsa grinding — more welding, lotsa grinding — more welding, lotsa grinding...

I wish my welding-practice was on my own car, as I want my friend's car to look good even though nobody will see the bottom once it's undercoated and the build finished... I'm very fortunate to be able to butcher practice on this Kustom. Luckily for me (and my friend), it's to be a driver, not a show car.

I do have some stamp ink specific cleaner that I've never actually used. It's got a weird oiliness to it that disgusts me

Do carbs go before or after distortion?

Dual Klon is put together with the send/return jacks in between. Ended up using some version of 1N34As that I had, but the BAT-41s sound pretty good too. I’m going to let my friend decide which he likes and get those soldered in.

Had to break out the ol’ zoom pedal to see if it still worked.

While my press isn't a floor model I have it on a dedicated stand next to my bench in the basement and I drill a lot of enclosures. I don't see it enough but I can't recommend enough that you make some kind of waste management container to catch as many shavings as possible. I made mine out of a big box and I catch 90-95% of all the crap that would end up all over the place. And every so often empty it with the shop vac.

That is exactly what I need to do with mine! great idea... it's such as mess maker!

Same Ge Fuzzrite as before.

I've added a 250k pot between the 22k and ground to act as variable bass boost.

The B50k is in series with the input. It simulates turning the guitar down to 9, which eliminates the crazy single coil hum and makes it completely gated and silent without losing too much gain. Can be turned up with hum cancelling pickups. Maybe it could be a toggle instead?

Edit: I just realized the Volume is linear. I wonder why I chose that
