I was just trying to place a $15 order at Tayda and the $.99 shipping option is gone. The cheapest they are quoting me is $12.76 for DHL. Which is super overkill for a handful of parts. Anyone else in the US notice this?
I think someone mentioned it another thread a bit ago. Seems like the option disappears every so often, but typically comes back. Maybe they got a new house in CO and need time to move.I was just trying to place a $15 order at Tayda and the $.99 shipping option is gone. The cheapest they are quoting me is $12.76 for DHL. I'm going to save the cart and come back to it later. I can't see paying that much for shipping. Even though I know many of our non-american members pay MUCH more in shipping, duties, and taxes.I think someone mentioned it another thread a bit ago. Same here. And DHL would be my absolute last choice for shipping anything to me. Tayda insists that they can't ship to my PO box, but DHL won't have it any other way. They just don't want to drive to my "semi-rural" area, a whopping one hour out of Portland. So it takes just as long as snail mail, for 2-3 times the cost...no thanks!I agree, it would be sad to see it go but we've probably been spoiled so... it may mean less frequent, larger orders to combine shipping from here on out for me
I'm also in a semi-rural area, but only about 30 minutes out of Porland... *lol*Same here. And DHL would be my absolute last choice for shipping anything to me. It was by weight. I believe the cutoff was .25 kilograms for the 99 cent usps shipping. I think the most I've ever paid is $5 for Tayda shipping. I'm in rural Minnesota. DHL has no infrastructure here and would be my very last choice for a carrier.I don’t think I ever came across that. It was always 10 or 12 dollars it seems like, so I’d wait until I had a large order. Once you get over $100 it goes down to about 4 or 5 for UPS.
It took me forever to start using Tayda (considered them too cheap to be real) and I typically pay less than $5 for their "two to three week" option because I usually order $20 or less at a time. A month ago I splurged for $10-$11 UPS shipping ... while I appreciate getting things before I've forgotten them, it wrecks the notion that I'm going there to drastically save money.I was just trying to place a $15 order at Tayda and the $.99 shipping option is gone. Right!?! I'm waiting to hear back from them on this dumbfuckery.I no longer see USPS as an option, only UPS or DHL. Both over $10 for a small order.
I had the option as of my last order on Monday. I loved it because I could grab everything I needed to build a pedal for under $10 shipped. I order 2-3 times a week. I never had to compile orders and there was always something in the mailbox.I, too, have never seen 99c shipping as an option from tayda. Always waited to place orders until I had a total of $100+ since even orders of $5 worth of caps and chips would be anywhere from $8-15 for the minimum shipping option.
New York, here.
Your "always something in the mailbox" statement makes me feel like we're missing out on yet another marketing idea, subscription box DIY pedal kits.I had the option as of my last order on Monday.
