Time to start dropping hints!I cant afford it but my brother just got a raise at work. maybe he needs me to build him a new amp. he just bought one of those yamaha revstars. it hasnt shipped yet so maybe he needs a new amp to go with it
it really shouldnt be too hard to convince. these kits look like a pretty killer deal. and those chassis are fucking sexy.Time to start dropping hints!
Build Video would be radA mighty schwing indeed!
Thinking about doing an amp build video, not sire how I want to go about it tho.
The 50 Watt Plexi will implode all of the FIBs brains!
I used to work in some pretty sketchy areas of the city and I believe they filmed part of the Batman movie in one area we frequented.I live in Chicago. The streets are always on the decline. Crime however has a healthy growth rate.
now you've done it.Any one ever order anything from them? They have a really nice SLO 30 kit that is calling my name!
C3amps has been on my radar for a long time, I was about to pull the trigger but prices increased again and it was more than I was willing to spend.now you've done it.
holy guacamole I did not need to know that this offering existed.
i was previously aware of http://c3amps.com/ that does/did SLO kits, but that site looks like it's been there for an eternity, the transaction setup looks weird and clunky, not instilling much confidence (yeah, could just send an email but..)
but these guys at rosamp look fresh as f**k. their wiring layout + schematic is only dated Apr2023.
the SLO100 (no tubes) kit is only 672.13 euros. WTFFFFFF that's so good.
does it even come with the vactrols too?
how are those boards you reckon? looks reasonably thick from your photos![]()
yeah fair call, and 30W is still gonna be a very loud and capable amp.C3amps has been on my radar for a long time, I was about to pull the trigger but prices increased again and it was more than I was willing to spend.
Plus the idea of a 50 or 100 watt was a bit too much for what I like to do.
The 30 watt kit is great, the boards are nice and thick, the traces are thick on the bottom side and it came with everything.
Everything is really well labeled and it comes with a big schematic and layout.
There is still going to be a bunch of head scratching from me but it seems pretty straight forward.
I lived in Madison for about 5 years about 20 years ago and had that same conundrum.Build video will be made!
Illinois is such a corrupt state, the amount of money they get in taxes and tolls is insane for the way the roads are. I was in Chicago last November and attribute that to have to replace the control arms on my vehicle......
As a former Illinoisan, I wish that state was better to live in and visit but it is no longer enjoyable to me. The sad thing is not many bands tend to stop in Wisconsin that much anymore so that means I end up driving to Illinois or Minnesota to see bigger shows.
That seems weird to me because I like a handful of bands from Appleton, and it was a frequent tour stop for my friends' band in the not so distant pastBuild video will be made!

Can we be build buddies? I am nervous with this one, I have drooled over an SLO for years ever since I saw Gov’t Mule back in ‘01.Bugger! Just ordered a set of their Slo100w transformers and one of their gorgeous chassis too!
Should fit my AAElectronics Solo100 PCB perfectly!
Now to get the parts and fire up the iron again ;-)
I will lightly plaster the video on the forum, I am kicking around making the head cabinet and doing some tolexing(?). Is that a word? To tolex, to cover ones head cabinet in tolex.I lived in Madison for about 5 years about 20 years ago and had that same conundrum.
Looking forward to vid. Keeping an eye on this project - def interested in building one as well.
Driving around in the suburbs where Eric and I grew up is so frustrating it is unreal! I lose it every time I go back home, just the most vicious string of obscenities comes out.I've lived here for about 35 years now. Originally from Canada so it's taken me decades to learn NOT to be polite. It still sneaks in way too often. It takes a bit of getting used to seeing your governor in handcuffs too (which happens surprisingly often).
Appleton is really great for smaller up and coming bands, we have the excellent mile of music. Which is a very cool opportunity to see a bunch if bands and meet cool people. That seems weird to me because I like a handful of bands from Appleton, and it was a frequent tour stop for my friends' band in the not so distant past
Not the Violent Femmes. The sad thing is not many bands tend to stop in Wisconsin that much anymore so that means I end up driving to Illinois or Minnesota to see bigger shows.
