Marshall JCM800 2023 - Not Good!

I've got one of Jason's ST1 PCBs incoming.. any recommendations on where to buy a chassis and Iron for a great price in the US? Forget Marshall.. I'll build my own.

Number 2 Humming also!:
Although I tend to agree that an OT choice makes a huge difference, the huge variance in plate voltage is the most obvious here.
I’d love to have heard him compare OT only… just not sure it would translate as well to video as the whole shebang!

Valvestorm has taken over the kit business that George Metropoulos http://www.metropoulos.net/ WAS running after George expanded his business and became totally swamped with building his repro and modded Marshall designs.

The chassis' have the options of going with totally original or slightly modded to allow different power/standby switches which 2203 chassis I just purchased has instead of buying those extremely expensive rocker lighted switches the originals came with.

They actually have better prices than say Mojo or Triode. The website sucks, but after I emailed Robert to verify I was really getting the right products I ordered. Took a week to ship but arrived extremely well packed!

So, for this JTM45, I just pick the Barebones kit and then all I need is iron and tubes?

It's like a buffet kit, you scroll down the checklist and add the stuff to the cart that you want. I have so many amp components that all I needed was the chassis and faceplates. I bought the iron at a Hammond transformer sale at CE Dist over a year ago. Takes me a LONG time to build an amp.

I am ashamed to say I want to get remarried just to have less housework, but it's true!!!

Alas, I'm a covid widower. It doth suck greatly at the teats of misfortune.....

If you want some silly ideas how to make your JCM800 modded, some of the amp peoples can point you to some fun tweaks.
I’d definitely be glad to help. Unfortunately I have some that I’m not at liberty to share out of respect, but I also have a few of my own that I can talk ya through- as long as I know what you are trying to do (more/less gain, brighter/darker, tighter/boomier lows, tuning tone stack for your cab and so on). Such a simple amp where the smallest changes can make the biggest difference
