Nothing, really. But back during the 072 shortage/ price hike thing I started using these in their place because they're consistently cheaper, and the specs so similar, that for most pedal purposes the differences are pretty much non-existent. They're still considerably cheaper than the 072s.
As for NOS, if you can find a good vendor it helps ensure you're not getting fakes or factory rejects. And, generally, the older bits just look cooler

And I’ll be honest, I had good luck using them when I was modding and designing some circuits.

I have a bunch of the 5532s on hand, but admittedly don't use them too often.
I do still use the 5534s quite a bit, though. That one's great in the Hot Cake and Rat

I'm cheesed that the naming convention for the 5534 doesn't follow that of a quad. WHY ARE YOU SINGLE‽ YOU HAVE A "4" IN YOUR NAME!

and then piled on SO. MUCH. MORE. More than kind...

In my Phase90 build report @Guilherme Collateral pointed out that my TL072s are fake. So I bought some new ones from LCSC. Let's hope they are legit this time because I bought 50 of them

They are legit! I'm buying lots of stuff from LCSC lately and been really happy with their products, prices and shipping!
