Some people don't know the secret language of screwheads.
Other people know, but don't have 1000 screwdrivers, and are making do with what they've got.
I'm the worst kind- I know the difference. I have the right tool. But I just don't feel like walking out to the garage to get the right one.

Ive got way too much to do right now with moving my bench/work area into my music room. And its getting tight in here as i added a new amp. But my new caps for the fender 75 came today so i took a pause from organizing to get that done and remove the death cap from the circuit. I did however leave it in there, its just not connected to anything anymore. Huge improvement in noise floor with the new caps, perhaps one of these days ill address the spaghetti, and maybe converting from UL…

Nice! Hope you did the bias cap at the same time! Also keep an eye on those carbon comp plate resistors- notorious for drifting high and adding the “Rice Krispies” (snap, crackle, pop and hisssssss) to hour sound over time.

Definitely one of the better Fenders out of that era, and surprisingly doesn’t get the love that the Rivera models do (which I can’t understand)

Wow, that’s some serious CBS era spaghetti you got going on there.

Notorious for it! I remember when I gave my old 74 Vibrolux it’s 30yr PM. Recapped it, replaced all noisy carbon comps, cut out the nasty CBS Hf suppressors, and switched it from a balance to proper bias.
After all that it still had a bad hum and other noises everywhere. I ended up cleaning up the wiring and pulled enough slack wire out of it to actually wire up another amp. Amp was so quiet after that you couldn’t tell it was on until you played.

Wow, that’s just insane.
