I’ve not finished my current amp project (not even close) but I picked up a chassis and board set from Amplified Nation for my next project.
Current plan is a Dumble Bluesmaster ODS which is a Marshall voiced ODS Dumble did in the 80s when the JCM 800 was all the rage. Thinking a 50 watt EL34 power amp, switch the overdrive section to a normal ODS overdrive section (or I have some other ideas), and use an octal to noval adapter to add another 12AX7 for a onboard Dumblator fx loop.
Maybe head in black tolex, white or silver piping, JTM45 or Bluesbreaker style grill cloth, and white Marshall knobs like I am trying in the picture.
Speaking of grill cloth this Vox style came in for my current project
Got my newest set of printed enclosures from Tayda!
The Mofeta should have had white outlines/in/out/9V and not black, and the text on the Disappearing Act was too dark. Plus they all could have been a touch more bright (eg. less saturation/ink/lower color values), but definitely moving in a better direction, and I'd say they're now fine in that regard. Especially the Theremin and Fuschia fuzzes came out great IMO (plus I always like when the LED placement accidentally hits a really nice location like on the Fuschia). The alien font I feel like worked out ok too, was a bit worried about that.
Close up of the Disappearing Act, the text is readable but too dark, maybe I should have just abandoned the squiggly font and went with something more boring, or maybe it could work in a different tone (or actually even as a cutout to let the enclosure color through?). You can also see the "stripey" print quality issue that someone else posted about in the Tayda thread, this one and the Sandblaster fuzz (burning penis cyborg plant in the desert) had that issue, but it's not really apparent unless you look really close so I don't mind too much.
Edit: Bottom middle is Kewpie btw, I struggled with a mayonnaise theme until I went with something very vaguely in that direction (not really at all), and I changed the labels for something I liked better which hopefully match what the switches do, more or less.
Not in the mailbox, had to drive an hour to meet the guy
Cobain model. Pretty clean outside of a couple of small scratches. Got it for a little less than half new price so no complaints.
Two PCB layout-centric orders arrived at the same time yesterday. First, a printed copy of RG Keen's "PCB Layout for Musical Effects."
And then a JLC order containing: Scientific Guitarist's Rubber Ducky, The DiSH, Soliton, and Echoplexus; Szukalski's Quick Shave, Figbuster and That Overdrive; and my own layouts: ~125 footswitch daughterboards, a One-Knobber, a Dyl-Ei Fuzz Apprentice.
This was the very first pedal I became absolutely infatuated with, and I finally found a deal good enough to jump on. I just finished modding it for a 18VDC input instead of 220VAC input (bought it from a UK seller), but other than that it's all stock and the Reticon SAD1024 sounds just like I remember.
I was super stoked to win this auction for a mere $16 after shipping.
Showed up today and immediately ripped open the package like a 90s kid with ADHD looking for his snes on Christmas morning.
Oh yeah! A butt load of vintage CBS germanium 1N34s!
Let's take a look
F-ck me backwards.
Checked the listing and yep. In the very last picture, there they were.
Damn.

Damn.
It was "lot vintage CBS electronics semiconductors resistors capacitors NOS estate sale" with the description of:
This lot includes a variety of vintage electronic parts from CBS Electronics, including semiconductors, resistors, and capacitors. These components are perfect for collectors or anyone interested in vintage electronics. The estate sale offers a unique opportunity to own a piece of history.
----
I've seen a lot of things listed as the wrong component type by sellers who just don't know so figured that was (and probably is) the case. I've actually scored some good bits from those types of auctions. And you can generally take the photos at face value with those because they don't know enough to try and cheat you or pass off fakes. So I just took it as this being a similar case.
After shipping costs, I'll only net a couple of bucks back so it's not really worth the time.

Fair enough. Figured it was someone trying to make a buck via fake listings because in that case I have no scruples going the whole 9 yards, credit card chargeback, opening eBay cases or whatever. But doesn't appear to be the case here. Win some, lose some
Yeah. There are a couple of packs that had a piece of tape on the back with a value(220, 470).
All part of playing the game I guess. I shouldve paid more attention to the listing but I just bid the opening bid figuring someone would outbid me. All good. Was a pretty big bummer in the moment but that was the worst thing that had happened this far to today so I can't complain. I was actually looking forward to piffing some out though. Freakin 1950-60s 1n34s in original packaging? Would've been sweet.
I did it all for the nookie, (cough) I mean sticker.
To be honest my initial reaction was "meh, it's a decent silver." Thankfully there was some sunlight left. I found the subtle rainbow and it chased my underwhelm away.
