Got me about 10 of those little things. Likely from the same seller.I got 5 of these old Raytheon 5678 mini tubes off eBay for this DEFX Petty Tears PCB. I have no idea what I am getting into here. I grabbed this pcb on whim with some other stuff cuz it looked cool. It’s a clone of Smallsound_Bigsound Pretty Years.
Nice! Thats a great idea with the screw terminals. Definitely let me know how it turns out. i haven't started this one yet. I got a few other things I gotta finish up before i get to the Petty Tears.Got me about 10 of those little things. Likely from the same seller.
The build doc suggests SIP sockets for testing out tubes. This, honestly, makes about 0 sense to me. Difficult to solder in place, doesn't make for a clean looking build.
I ordered some screw terminals from tayda that look like they should fit the board's pitch, should be arriving Wednesday. I'll let you know how they work out:

Thanks for putting them on Github! I really appreciate the files being shared freely, and if I do eventually get around to learning to do the same myself I'm planning to do it too.View attachment 86145
Was out of town for a while, but had binged on making KiCad layouts before then. Just got back and had 3 JLC orders waiting for me (3 PCBs each, to keep shipping super cheap) - all my own layouts:
Built the Dipper and Honeycreeper tonight. Honeycreeper sounds great - better in my mind than the Joyo clone ("Sweet Baby") I craigslisted. Dipper seems to work but the compression effect is very subtle, will need more testing. Finally, this is my second PCB order of the Shiny Cowbird, first one had a few bad footprints, but it still worked. Really like it as a unique nasally fuzz. So at least 3 of these are confirmed to do something. I'd be building a few more of these right away, except that I ran out of A100K pots and am waiting on Tayda.
- Dipper Compressor - (Dylan159's "That" Compressor)
- Fledgling Phaser - (Dylan159's PUP Litter of Four)
- Common Loon - (Dylan159's Trembling Satellite)
- Shiny Cowbird - (Dylan159's Dyl-Ei Fuzz)
- King Eider - (Katzenkoenig)
- Varied Thrush - Orange Squeezer
- Green Honeycreeper - (Mad Professor Sweet Honey)
- Horus - (Basic Audio Scarab Deluze)
- Red Snapper clone (I didn't give this its own name)
Will start putting the Dylan159 layouts on Github, as I sort out BOM and other deatils.
Kicad interactive bom plugin is great for this! Will start putting the Dylan159 layouts on Github, as I sort out BOM and other deatils.
@peccary How does the vacuum sealed flour do? I have a woodfired pizza oven and make pizzas all summer, little to cold to do in Denver during the winter. We buy a big bag of the OO flour, always have some left over in the fall.I got a shitload of flour in the mail yesterday that I spent th afternoon vacuum sealing into 5lb bags.
