Buzz in my pedalboard.
This section of the board is wired Clandestine Preamp -> Lux Vibe -> Projectile Overdrive.
Clandestine Preamp: Annoying buzz
Clandestine Preamp + Lux Vibe: No buzz
Projectile Overdrive: No buzz
Lux Vibe + Projectile Overdrive: Loud buzz
Clandestine Preamp + Projectile Overdrive: Very loud buzz
Why does the Lux Vibe remove it with Clandestine, but make it appear with the Projectile? Some interference thing together with phase flipping or something? What the hell?
I probably just need to go about it one by one, isolating the factors, but I don't have the energy right now. I don't think it's related to these specific pedals either (except maybe the Clandestine, that's a mainstay, I've switched the others around lately). It's just weirdly annoying. And I don't think it's a "background buzz being amplified" thing either, the Stoner Bee has gain up the wazoo and no buzz.

EBS Runsten. I do run ~12 pedals at once, so some are daisy chained. But only the Projectile is out of these ones, and I don't think I'm anywhere near maxing out it or anything like that.

I would be wary of the daisy chain to start. Ground loops can have surprising causes. What happens if you add one pedal at a time?
Put a new battery in my 2.5 year old Gravely ZT mower about 3 weeks ago. Shipped with a tiny power wheels battery but the manual says A2 compatible. it's a pita as you have to remove the seat, made more difficult by the spring in spring shock absorbers I made for the seat. But it fits
I mowed once since then(no rain). Today, wouldn't start. 6 2 volts on the battery.
Upon further inspection.
The hydro trans cooling fan ate a hole through the battery wall, dumping an entire cells acid and slinging it all over the mower underside. Deck, both trannies, everything.
Note, the fuel tank is also under the seat. They designed this so that a fan could eat through the battery, possibly causing a fire *right next to the fuel cell that the operator sits on*!!!

IDK if my transmission are done for yet. Rinsed everything with bicarb water but it's been sitting for 3ish weeks. Damage is done. Left side transmission control line is a gonner. Every pulley is bulbously rusted in the groove where it got on the belt. Both trannies are corroded. Kinda worried one could fail under pressure and explode, again, next to the fuel cell.
I have 50 hours exactly on a near 7k mower and it may be shot, unsafe to operate or require new transmissions which are a huge cost. Not to mention the long term corrosion/surprises.
My old Gravely had a ton of dumb engineering. Just numbskull design choices. But it laster almost 20 years until I got over constant repairs.
I had hoped Gravely/Ariens had gotten better and spent a good hour looking the mower over at the dealer. You can change the oil without flooding the engine mount, you can change the spark plugs without having to hack a 6 point socket into a 2 point socket to get around a dumb shroud, solid steel plate deck with plate reinforced spindles, same (expensive) hydro trans models used in the high end commerical Bad Boys. It seemed the design team had improved greatly.
Well. except the not so obvious death trap created when your power wheels battery dies post warranty.
I hate dumb and dangerous engineering... So. So. Sooo much.

My headache is the deterioration of gym etiquette. It feels like it’s taken a nosedive since covid. People camping on their phones, trashing paper towels, and now this: the fly machine incident.
One of the older guys is using it. He gets up, leaves his janky towel and water bottle on it, and disappears. At first I figure he’s grabbing a paper towel to wipe it down, but nope, he goes to the bathroom. A younger me might’ve waited it out and asked to work in, but this guy straight-up abandoned post. My membership is the same as his. Nowhere in any gym policy does it say “leave your gross towel and that means dibs while you take a shit.” So I hopped on.
I managed to knock out two of my three sets, one-minute rests (yes, I literally watch the clock on the wall not fingerf$%k my phone). He comes back and says, “I’m using that.” I reply, “that's odd because you were somehow simultaneously using the bathroom too? You’re welcome to work in with me between sets though.” He gets huffy like a middle schooler who didn’t get a pony: “FINE! TAKE IT!” Me: “Thank you, have a nice day.”
Gym etiquette shouldn’t be complicated. Use it, wipe it, move on. Leaving your stuff behind doesn’t give you squatter’s rights.

I've been on the hunt for a Roland GR-50 Guitar synthesizer to use with the midi pickup in my Brian Moore iGuitar. The first GR-50 arrived last week with a dead internal battery which is normal for older Roland rack stuff but it was listed as fully functional... the second GR-50 arrived from different seller but it was shipped in a oversized box with no padding and bounced around bending the knobs and faceplate.... I got refunded on both items but still a headache to deal with.

Are those batteries tough to replace?
Also, I've got a piece of gear travelling west coast -> east coast right now, and my fingers are crossed very hard.

Replacing battery isn’t TOO difficult from what I’ve read so far. I’m going dig in and get one of them working once I confirm seller doesn’t want the damaged one back. I’m not sure how that works. Both refunds seem to be complete and eBay and reverb never sent me return labels. Good luck with your shipment!

I found the right battery for my old GR-09 synth at Mouser for like a couple of bucks. Haven’t gotten around to replacing it yet, but it looks pretty straightforward.

I replaced the battery on an old zoom drum machine a couple months ago. Same battery as the internal battery in Gameboy carts I guess

UPS officially lost my phone. They also denied my insurance claim because they ...couldn't contact the recipient? Anyway I need to buy a new phone which is a bummer but why the fuck are options for buying a phone case so awful? Do most people not use a phone case? Do people like those hard plastic phones that don't offer any drop protection? I drop my phone like at least 10 times every single day. And the color options are even worse

I use a clear speck case. I drop mine about that much too. So far so good.
I have 2 of these I've repaired and didn't notice a battery. Also, wasn't looking...
Guess I'll have to take them apart, again...
