What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Big mail day again.....

First up, a care package from @Guardians of the analog. Really looking forward to building the OD-1 and a new CH-1 board Chris came up with.
Pickups will wind up.....somewhere...heh. I need to measure them first. The MBP "Misfit" Ibanez Mostortion, looking forward to that one too. He even sent the mojo opamp for it!

Then from @Audandash, some stomp switch boards that match the errrrrr.....unconventional pin configuration of his boards, of which I have a bunch to build yet,

And finally, this came on a slow boat from China.....literally. DHL with the tariffs is something I'm not willing to pay for JLC orders. But their "slow boat" option is actually pretty affordable.

Bonnie loves her car rides, even if its a 2 minute trip up to our mailboxes hahah.

So I can’t speak for @MichaelW but usually the slow boat is about 14 business days after it ships. I haven’t had to pay any additional fees on those that came. On the other end of that I have some that are taking a lot longer. Approaching 30 days. The funny thing about that though is it’s once it’s in the US that is taking so long in those cases. It’s going all over the US. Long story short, if it’s important I would go DHL. It’s a crap ton more expensive but more reliable if you need it faster. If you want to roll the dice go for the cheap shipping. I am currently debating on whether or I need to reorder some of the limbo ones.

Yah, they still charge tariff but it's much less. This is my order for 5 boards. I think if I went DHL it would have been probably around $45 shipping.
I've done the slow boat a few times now and I'm pretty happy with it.

He also has a Sansui SY-1 for sale, but I don't see myself ever buying an MR-6.

That's awesome. I wasn't familiar with those sansui dual-tape units! I've tried to wrap my head around recording smtpe to cassette and then using it to sync with other devices. Are you imagining tracking time code data? Or just using it as a remote?

I already had a very basic MIDI FSK converter (JL Cooper PPS-2 Synchronizer), so the levelling up has more to do with the punching in/out and the start/stop messages it can send to midi devices. All this gear and two hands. We need all the help we can get, right?

It's a wild thing. With an amazing boss reverb pedal hidden inside it.

I saw you serviced one in the past. It's why I wondered if you cared for the manual of this remote, as you might end up with such a unit at some point and it'd make the resale a bit more easier on you. :)

If only I could find a mint condition Yamaha MT120S, for recording away from home.

I have never had a ws-x1 unfortunately. I've had about 35 tascams, a Yamaha MT100ii that I sort of regret selling, an ADAT, some vcrs, and 3 R2R machines 🙃
 
One week after I posted my new Guild guitar here one of my cats managed to drop the guitar stand and DESTROYED the paint job and almost cracked the body of the guitar. I really dont like sunburst guitars, so instead of feeling angry I decided to look at the bright side of things and got it refinished with a color I actually like. I’m really happy with the result!
