What's for dinner?

Eww gross — "peanut butter and pickle"?

I'm totally game to try pickle & peanutbutter, though.

One of my earliest memories is going out to the kitchen to find my Dad, after he worked extremely late, making himself Honey & Carrot sandwiches. Sometimes he made Peanutbutter & Carrot.

Another family-favourite is peanutbutter & bacon.

Die mayo ziet heel lekker. Precies genoeg!

Proof again that bacon goes with anything!

On a long bicycle tour I stopped at a tiny general store looking for peanut butter. They were out, and 60 miles from anything.

The owner took pity and asked me to wait while she ran upstairs to her apartment to make me a peanut butter sandwich.

It came with lettuce. I haven’t tried one since, but in my memory it was excellent.

When I was helping my cousin build his rehearsal studio, we'd often have a smorgasboard of bread such as pumpernickel, rye, sourdough etc which would be toasted, and then peanutbutter and... cheese, of various types. A large pot of strong tea was always at hand, too.

Have to admit, the first time I saw him add cheese on top of the peanutbutter... I wasn't necessarily grossed out, but ... I tried it.
I've been having that combo for decades now.

Croissantwich with all natural peanutbutter (peanuts with a pinch of salt added) and marbled Canadian Chedder, though I was tempted to have Havarti, I opted for marble for the photo-op...

Oh, and I once worked with a Brit who insisted butter should be on ANY & EVERY type of sandwich — to which I concur.

Home-made pizza tonight, with a sourdough crust of course!

One veggie with pineapple (wife's), something, something, and mozza and marbled Canadian-cheddar.

Mine was bigger, but much simpler — mushroom and Italian wine salami with mozza.

The bowl in the second pic is the pizza sauce, home-made fresh from Roma tomatoes.

I had a big lunch and my wife's not a big eater so we both have half a pizza for tomorrow's lunch.
