I have never heard anyone say this before.Trying to stay away from tubes for everything before the power amp, so no tube preamps.

I'm simply not ready for a tube project, especially since I've never played through a tube amp before. As reference I am primarily a bass player so guitar is a distant secondary, I just want to build a small board that I can plug into my bass head's power amp without needing my HX Stomp to play.I have never heard anyone say this before.
Tube preamp into a power amp is a pretty common use case for my pedals. Just saying.I'm simply not ready for a tube project, especially since I've never played through a tube amp before. When I do get to it, I do want to build your Steddi Go! project, solid state front end with tube backend.hearing someone say they don't want a tube preamp makes me sad.

I am a modern metal bassist, as soon as I picked my first bass up I felt the hate flow through me.Why do you hate yourself?
I, for one, look forward to your troubleshooting threads and fart jokes.I am a modern metal bassist,
Oh no, that's my lead guitarist and vocalist. The drummer and I are the responsible ones, make of that what you will.I, for one, look forward to your troubleshooting threads and fart jokes.
I already plan to play through my 4x10 bass cab using the power section of my bass amp, so I have no need to buy an FRFR speaker or a separate power amp, especially since I'm not playing guitar on stage.I was wondering why you don't just add a quality EQ pedal to the end of your PB chain, put that into a Class D power amp?
I'd personally go with a splitter (to front of house and that EQ pedal), into a used EHX 44 Magnum, Duncan Power Stage or a QSC GX3, into a used passive full-range PA speaker (12" w/ horn). Maybe skip the separate amp and speaker and find a used powered PA speaker.
The pedal I posted above works great in situations like yours, for both guitar and bass. Hell yeah, I'll take a look man. SMD is a PITA but it is something I can do.The pedal I posted above works great in situations like yours, for both guitar and bass. There are details in the build threads, or here: https://github.com/Passinwind/PW3B-LPF
If hand soldering SMD parts is too much hassle there's another through-hole version in the works, but it's down my work queue a bit for now.
I spec'ed relatively large SMDs (1206 resistors, SO-8 opamps) and all the caps are through-hole. There's a new version in the works that runs internally at +/-15V and can directly drive any power amp, but the current version already has plenty of headroom, especially if you run it at 12-18 volts.Hell yeah, I'll take a look man.
