SOLVED- All Points Boost.

So- I wired up the All Points Booster. I actually breadboarded it from the schematic as a learning tool. I didnt have a 2n5088 transistor and substituted a 2N3904. The breadboard circuit worked fine.

When I went to the PC board- there was the added part of the circuit that ends at the LED which I didn’t breadboard. I had all the components except for the 100u capacitor. I substituted a 47u. The completed PCB sounds more like a distortion with weird gating. Being that the capacitor is the only thing different, would that cause this? I hooked up the breadboard circuit to the amp and it sounds like it should. Waiting on some 100u caps now.

The 100u cap is just a power filter for any DC ripple.

Can you post pics of your board (both sides)? This is just a LPB-1, so we should be able to solve it pretty quick. If I had to guess I'd say you've got a cold solder joint somewhere.

I will get that later today- I have to take apart the pedal. It should be easy to figure out- there’s hardly anything there. One other thing is that I was originally going to put a battery in the circuit and used a three prong power jack.. but then I realized a battery wouldn’t fit in the enclosure so I abandoned that idea.. but since I drilled the whole for the three prong jack, I had no choice but to to use the jack and leave the one prong empty. I measured the voltage where the power comes into the board and it was at 9.10 V and proper polarity.

These joints look the most suspect, but it wouldn't hurt reflowing all of them. Trim the leads sticking out just to make it look prettier. I have not checked your component values. Can you confirm they are correct?

BtR has already pointed out a bunch of suspect joints...

I had these as the most egregious-looking, but not limited to those circled (saw BtR's post before I could finish):

Also look at the flat ones, the dull ones and bulbous. They should all be nice little solder-volcanoes.
