I’ve joined the cult!

I don’t play much bass, but it sounds nice as a DI with my baritone.

Keepin it DIY with some tricky drilling and Posca pens as usual. The lighting in my shop made the color look all screwy, but it’s regular Tayda cream with a matte clear coat.

So far I’ve been running it off one of the 500ma 9v outputs on my voodoo lab 3plus. Recommended minimum is 600ma…

I think I could run it on the 12v 1a, or pull one of the tubes if I’m just running the xlr to lower the draw, but I need to do some more reading to try and figure out the best option.

This looks great! I'd love more details on your drilling process: was it all drill press, or did you do some machining?

Oh yeah, tons of respect for the folks drilling rows of holes and fileing them into slots by hand, but I’m doing it the easy(ish) way with an old manual mill.

For this little batch of c2ce stuff I set table stops to cut the longest slot, then spaced off the stops with a series of gauge blocks to cut the smaller slots. It wasn’t bad once I got in the flow, but I did mess one up and then tried to make it look intentional.

The diamond shapes was my plan for a simpler design after doing curved slots in my last one.

I'm kinda giddy that I have one of these pcb's on the way and I ordered all the parts today.. building for a guy I play with.. I've never dropped $250 worth of parts for one build... dang
Still a lot cheaper than a noble!

According to my spreadsheet, I spent 205 on parts for mine, but that was before tariffs, doesn’t include shipping, and I didn’t pay to get it drilled.

Have fun building it!

Yeah I went ahead and sent it off to tayda for drilling... plus I got a faceplate.. ordered all the parts from AP,Mouser and Tayda that I didn't have on hand....$66 of it all was just shipping fees from the different sources
