[SOLVED] This one got me (Bellum Fuzz MKII)

Hi folks, A couple of weeks ago I finished a bellum fuzz mkii and although simple pedal, it kicked my ass in every way possible. The first time I drilled the enclosure, it cracked. Then when tried to paint the new enclosure, the clear coat got messed four times. Now the pedal is assembled but...

    Dumbloid special on stripboard

I really wanted to build my first stripboard circuit, so I decided to go for the Shin's Music Dumbloid special, using Tagboard effects layout. http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2014/03/shins-music-dumbloid-special.html As for many others of my build, I choose to clone the original pedal...

    My electrovibe build

Thanks! Are you switching to the mini just for the smaller footprint?

    War scythe

Let’s say it is a tribute :) The original hoof reaper only came in either white (v1) or gold (v2). I understand many will look at this as a rip-off, but this pedal is never going to be sold. In the future I'll move to my own custom graphics.

    My electrovibe build

After seeing so many great builds here on the forum, I had to try to build an electrovibe myself. Overall it took me a long time to source all the components, solder the pcb, and then come up with an enclosure. I'm sick and tired of painting raw aluminum enclosures, so I've purchased a laser...

    War scythe

I had to repaint the enclosure five times, as the decal was getting blurred after applying the clearcoat, but eventually I was able to finish the pedal: Overall, I'm super happy with it. It's definitely the best fuzz pedal I've ever built or heard. The tonebender side sounds way better...

    Battery power supply

I think the discussion is very interesting, so I'm eager to see how it develops. Before building this contraption, I've also investigated virtual batteries, then eventually decided it would have been much simpler to use real batteries rather than trying to simulate their effects. This is...

    Battery power supply

Well, I'm just a hack who can barely use a soldering iron  ... I've just copied what other people have done commercially. There aren't many parts at all: -1x 1590BB Enclosure -2x Omron G5V-2-H1-DC9 relays (but many others will work) -2x 2N3904 diodes (to avoid wrong polarities on the...

    Battery power supply

The red jack gets 9v from the standard pedalboard power supplier (the one powering the rest of the pedals), and triggers two solid-state relays connecting the batteries' positive leads to the pedals. Each relay drives two batteries. This way when the pedalboard's main power is on, the batteries...

    Battery power supply

While testing my recently built fuzz and overdrive pedals, I've noticed they sound way better with 9V batteries (even compared to a switching power supply). For this reason, I've started researching a way to build a reliable battery power supply that could power multiple pedal, be hosted on a...

    Electrovibe

Hi everybody, I’ve finally started putting together the electrovibe pcb. Has someone already located the 47k input resistor that R.G. Keen suggests replacing to increase volume? I’ve read before in this thread that it should be R4 but resistors are not numbered on the pcb and full docs aren’t...

    War scythe

Progressing with the build. The enclosure has been painted with the first layer of “rattle can special” :D hammered paint: Waterslide decal is next on the list.

Love the dark rift! I'm also going to build one soon. Just received the pcb and stocking on components!

    Sunflower fuzz

Just finished this: Please excuse the knock-off graphic (even if not 100% like for like copy), but the pedal will never go for sale and I liked it a lot. For this build I selected the best components I could: ohmite carbon comp resistors, vishay axial capacitors and russian GT402...

    Duocast

Beautiful! Would love to learn screenprinting as well. However, I always thought of it as a way to do repeatable printing on a batch of enclosure. Does it make sense for a single pedal?

    War scythe

Since this section is called “build reports” I thought to post some wip pictures instead of the finished pedal. This is how far I got currently. The PCB: I had to use a stereo pot as mono as when shopped for parts, both tayda and mouser were out of the correct value. Transistors are Russian...

    Electrovibe

Searching more about Univibe components, I've found this list of compatible LDRs: Some of them are available in Europe through Digi-key. I think I'll try to order some of the following: Digi-Key Code Manuf. Code Manufacturer Description Rise Time Fall Time Min. Dark Resistance Light...

    Electrovibe

@Big Monk @jjjimi84 thanks both for the replies! I did forget to mention I'm located in Europe so would like to avoid buying overseas because of duties and long times. I'll keep these two sources in mind however, If I cannot find anything within shorter reach.
