DBA Reverberation Machine w/ Feedback mod

Yep, sounds like that would work. I'm trying to think through how to get the LED to stay in that spot, but I guess the brick will hold it in place somewhat. I picked up a number of boards from Moonn a few months back and most of them seem to line up drill template wise... the 125b designed ones...

DBA Reverberation Machine w/ Feedback mod

I'm assembling this one now with a drilled enclosure I put together using Tayda's Box Tool. Below is the template I used, although you may want to edit it a bit. I had anticipated doing both the drykill and the feedback mods, but forgot about the belton brick's position relative to the hole for...

PCB Guitar Mania - Fuzz Blaster

Looks like it was a bad 3pdt. Guess I'll start springing for the slightly more expensive ones. Thanks for your help!

PCB Guitar Mania - Fuzz Blaster

I've got the jacks wired up with ground going to the sleeve lug and the input (& output on the other side) on the tip lugs... according to the enclosed jack diagram on the PedalPCB Wiki (https://wiki.pedalpcb.com/wiki/Jacks). So I think that's correct and have checked the continuity with a...

PCB Guitar Mania - Fuzz Blaster

Does anyone have tips for PCB Guitar Mania boards? I've completed around 10 PedalPCB projects, a few from Moonn, some from GuitarPCB and have been able to get all of them working with a reasonable amount of troubleshooting (touch wood). But this is my first attempt at a PCBGM board and I'm...

SOLVED Mesmerizer - LED Will Not Light

Very stream of conscious. Reminds me of a McLusky track

SOLVED Moonn Asteroid - 7 Transistor Fuzz War/DBA Armageddon - Assistance

Added the 3pdt and wired it up according to the diagram and we're up and running. Does seem like a pretty gnarly fuzz... can get spitty and very fizzy, but I suppose that's the v1 fuzz war circuit. Would have been nice if that part of the instructions had been included in the build doc, but oh well.

SOLVED Moonn Asteroid - 7 Transistor Fuzz War/DBA Armageddon - Assistance

Think I may have figured out whats causing the issue. The build doc does not provide any details on the 6 lugs labeled "filter" in the bottom right of the PCB... although it does list a 3PDT for it on the parts list. I've yet to see this type of arrangement for a switch, so I'll need to play...

Yea, I cleared around it. Those photos didn't have the best angle.

SOLVED Moonn Asteroid - 7 Transistor Fuzz War/DBA Armageddon - Assistance

Any smart folks out there had success building the DBA Armageddon? I've been working on the Moonn Electronics Asteroid, which from the description is based upon the Armageddon (http://dirtboxlayouts.blogspot.com/2019/07/death-by-audio-armageddon.html) but still scratching my head on this one...

    Fuzz War V1 Question (Transister-related)…

Sorry, the camera on this phone isn't great. Can never seem to fully remove the glare. And that is another partially obscured 2n5088 in the left-center area. Also noticed one like it on Reverb (https://reverb.com/item/59025978-death-by-audio-fuzz-war-v1-2011?bk=) that has a similar looking rear...

    Fuzz War V1 Question (Transister-related)…

After seeing this post, I opened up the V1 I picked up cheap locally some years back (Ty Segall/Ohsees fan here). At the time didn't know there was a more recent 3-knob Muff based variant of the Fuzz War. Expected to see 7 transistors, but found only 4... Perhaps this is some sort of v1.5 or...

SOLVED Mesmerizer - LED Will Not Light

I had picked up the 2n5485's from Tayda back in February when they had a small amount in stock. Those seem to be working... it was the 2n5457's that gave me problems. Tried swapping in about 10 of those before giving up and using some J201s I had from GuitarPCB. Fired right up after adding those.

SOLVED Mesmerizer - LED Will Not Light

Didn't have any common cathode LEDs, so made a quick run to micro center and picked a few up. All good now. Thanks Nic!

SOLVED Mesmerizer - LED Will Not Light

Common anode (tayda sku a-3243). Tested with my DMM... positive to the center, negative to one side (lights red), then other side (lights green). ... and that's probably the problem. D'oh! Thanks!

SOLVED Mesmerizer - LED Will Not Light

Nearing the end of a Mesmerizer build, and after some transistor swapping (2n5457's out, J201's in) it's sounding as advertised. Volume pot functional, speed and depth are A-OK. However I can't seem to get the 2 color LED to light... I read a few posts mentioning how one side might be brighter...

Parentheses Fuzz: Popping when Distortion or Boost engaged

Any luck on the boost & distortion switch popping on the Parentheses builds? Finished mine a few days ago and experiencing the same result. Figured I'd ask around.

Fuzzhugger Phantom Octave - Octave LED?

Anyone out there ever build (clone PCB or vero/perf board) of the Fuzhugger Phantom Octave circuit? Had ordered a number of PCBs from Moonn Electronics, and as a bonus they included their take on this circuit, the "Opera" (https://moonnelectronics.bigcartel.com/product/opera). I had all the...

    SOLVED Depot (lack of) Fuzz

Not sure what happened, but put the 1M back in the R1 spot, buttoned everything back up and suddenly it's working. I'm guessing it was related to the transistors not making good contact in the sockets as Fingolfen suggested. Trimmed down the leads and bended the ends just slightly so they'd grip...

    SOLVED Depot (lack of) Fuzz

Thank you both! I measured all the resistors added to the PCB and they look to match up with the silkscreen photo provided by Robert. Although I couldn't get a reading on that 1M in the R1 spot... and after much difficulty removed it and found it was correct (d'oh). Will put it back in this...
