2n3904 for 2SC1815 in scream machine?

Putting this here since technically it's a mod.

I built the little green scream machine, but didn't have any 2sc1815 so I socketed the transistor holes, insulated the legs and changed the position to match the pinout of the 2sc1815 and used some 2n3904 instead.

So my question is this. I've never used the 2sc1815 before. It's not hard to pop out the 2n3904, but it sounds decent.
Will changing to the original build transistors make any noticeable difference?

I've got some coming tomorrow.

Thanks all

Should be only a subtle, if any, difference. They're both jellybean silicon BJTs. The 2SC1815 is specified as having more gain, but should not make a difference in a screamer.

It's just a buffer. You won't hear any audible difference. On my first one I made the mistake of putting in 2n3904s for the buffer transistors without looking at the build doc. I hate desoldering transistors, but I managed to get them out and put the right ones in.
