My first pedal purchase of my adult life was a TC electronic Viscous Vibe. I had heard Jimi Hendrix’s song “Jungle,” and I knew I needed that sound. Once building, I built the OG Univibe and it hasn’t left my board. However, the Abyss is quite a rival (and cheaper to make). The LDRs are the most “fancy” components, but they are not too hard to acquire. I think the Abyss can get more chewy and swirly than the Univibe, but I need to do more comparisons. The Univibe is warmer and I think it is due to the preamp section.Regardless, I really like this pedal.
