This one is the last of that first series that I made! I’ll stop bombarding the forum with my posts for a while!
I wanted a straight forward bass overdrive, so this seemed like an easy choice. It’s the stock circuit, but after building this, I realized I could have done the same thing with the switch on my modded Rat build and use the On/Off/On switch to take the diodes out completely. I guess I need to make another Rat.
Like many of the other pedals that I built at the same time, it wanted it to look tangentially like the Blumes, so I went with the same basic color scheme but leaned into the “Bloom”. I like the late 60’s hippy vibe of it.
I’ll post some of the ensemble pics here. After my initial four pedals I built before Christmas, I did nine basically simultaneously, and with the move I did at the end of January they were all in stages of “almost” done. The last week and a half has been getting the graphics and clearcoat done, then troubleshooting minor problems and getting them all operating. I’m loving this as a hobby. I’m a high school band director, and being able to make useful musical things in my spare time and with peace and quiet has been part of a few connected hobbies, and pedal building just adds to that. I love the info here and I’m inspired by so many of your fantastic builds and amazing skills.
