Any new concerts you're looking forward to (formerly 2023 concerts)

I went to go see Windhand (one of my favorite bands) supported by Ilsa at a very small venue (Songbyrd Music House) here in DC.

Impressed by Ilsa--kind of Conanish, and I love Conan. Also did not know they were local.

I enjoyed the inner organ massage, but it was so loud I was having trouble picking out familiar songs, and I had hearing damage despite earplugs, and my knee got messed up from standing for 2 hours.

I'm just getting old.

I always wanted to see Ilsa. I didn't realize they were still active

Jeff Tweedy tomorrow and Tame Impala on Tuesday are the only scheduled shows for the rest of the year. Hoping I can get last minute tix to Boz Scaggs though.

Also not a concert, but I’m thinking I might be able to get tickets to the Quadrophenia Ballet next month if it’s not yet sold out.

Pretty active! Their frontman was giving Minor-Threat-by-way-of-black-metal energy. A drummer of remarkably mellow demeanor, three guitars (firebird, a Jackson I think, and an Ibanez AR), a funky aluminum neck bass, two and a half epic beards, mutton chops, and three hesher manes.

Saw Entheos and The Zenith Passage last night. Technical Death Metal.

It was super badass. It was also the most double kick drum I have felt in my life. For a half minute, something happened- my guess is the sound guy hit the wrong scene or something, because the mix changed and it was SO LOUD. Like the PA was at it’s peak. I felt bad for anyone who was not wearing earplugs during that. So then that previous record of double bass intensity was beat by a whole lot. Like a sonic weapon. It was very metal.

Northwest Terror Fest released next year's lineup. Pretty solid as usual, with a surprise reunion of Black Breath!

Line up is a bit weak compared to years passed, but I’d consider dipping down across the border for Pig Destroyer, Oransi Pazuzu and Black Breath…maybe (I’d get kidnapped by border patrol)

Love that poster artwork. I would go for Kylesa and Pig Destroyer. Kylesa is one of my favorite live bands. I love their guitar tone. It sounds like an outboard boat motor in the best kind of way.

Last night was Umphrey's McGee yet again and they really did a killer job. New drummer hung pretty well and held it together. Here's some Bassic Stasik.

Other shows I am excited for are The Osees and King Buffalo with All Them Witches.
