Anyone successfully modify a dual pot before?

Before you call me a fool and type"what on earth are you doing now!?!?"
The goal is to create a dual pot with a c50k wafer on top and a b50k wafer on bottom by replacing the bottom wafer of a c50k dual pot.

Anybody tried this before?

Depending on the circuit you could also add a 10K resistor across one set of legs of a dual B50k pot.

I remember when you posted that link years ago on MBP when you were making a pot for a lectric-fx blues driver I think it was. Lots of good info in there

I've done it. I used dual gang Alpha pots I think. Combined a 1k log with a 500k log for a custom active/passive guitar volume pot. Alphas are not great unfortunately. I really really wish they'd sell modular square pot sections that you could assemble yourself. Oh, Clarostat, how you spoiled me.

I've found that Alpha pots from Tayda are much easier to disassemble than Alphas from other sources.
