Here's the Argentum (1212 preamp). Realising that it runs off 18V, I biased the J201s to as near to 1/2 supply voltage as I could muster (around 9V). I notice various recommendations for bias in the comments (from 7 to 11V), but it seems to work fine as I've set it, so no need this side to twiddle aimlessly looking for elusive 'silvery' sounds.
Plenty of gain and fuzzy JFET goodness available and not overbearingly bassy.
Nice set to minimal dirt for my purposes but plenty more available for other tastes and preferences, as above. Tele to 1212 to Generalissimo to Unicab offers plenty of tone shaping options, with a touch of Caesar to taste.
