Supposed to have some kind of temp/bias/servo thing and a pickup simulator. Sounds like some interesting stuff going on.

There is a little opamp circuit that monitors the bias voltage and heats up a couple carbon comp resistors laying across the Ge transistors.

So they dial it in for like 95 degrees and then keep it hot? Funky.

Crazy that they have a little Ge warmer! What if you’re in 108 degrees weather? Does it also have a tiny AC unit?

If I understand it correctly, if the transistor is over the ideal temp, the current that runs through the 'attached' resistors is 'turned off'. So now the resistors act as heatsinks to cool off the transistor.

resistor material would make a very poor heatsink
