Capacitor substitute

I’m sure I can do this but just wanted to be sure. My normal supplier does not have the ceramic 1 microfarad caps for the Deflector build I want to do. Is it ok to use a film cap instead?

I built this awhile back and just had a look at the build documentation to refresh my memory. I think @Robert suggested these to conserve space. 1uF film caps may well be too wide to fit. Perhaps wait for the MLCCs for safety’s sake

Yes right on. I took a closer look at the board and it may be a little cramped. I’ll hold off

It’s a really nice circuit, worth waiting for the correct size components.

I've used these in a pinch
Just make sure to measure them before loading, I did have a few out of spec

I wasn't even aware monolithics went that high; seeing them in other people's builds I always assumed they were tantalums!

Wima 1uF 50V box caps are only 3.5mm wide, but they're still pretty tall.
