Based on the Catalinbread® Katzenkönig, a hybrid circuit that combines a silicon Tone Bender with the diode clipping and tone control from the RAT Distortion.

Got it, Darwin999, but some people here would rather build a PPCB version without Aion's 3PDT board.

I suppose they could build up a PCB from THCustom, which was available before Kevin's version (IIRC), but even then, many would rather build Robert's layout.

Not that it really makes a difference since the schematic is widespread now, but I find it interesting that Catalinbread has removed it from the documentation... There is still a reference to it on page 5, but page 6 has since been removed.

Catalinbread does a lot of stuff nowadays that’s makes me go …

And I wish they’d change things up and do a reverb pedal or something…

There's also a version from Fuzzdog, I built that one. Not a huge fan, I should revisit it and maybe change the blue LEDs I used (behind a clipping switch) to something else.

What they oughta do is come out with a KIT-pedal, with top jacks, have some super-slick marketing campaign behind it, something really simple that ANYBODY could put together as if it were a couch from Ike...
