You ever seen what's inside one of these?

Two FV-1s, two EEPROMs, 10 optos, and a microcontroller.... and that's just the top side of the top layer.

Better fire up your reflow oven because this isn't happening with through-hole components. :ROFLMAO:

Never seen the inside of one. I immediately suspected two FV-1s and at least two EEPROMs, but didn't dream it would incorporate an MCU.

Having a peek at the inner workings is definitely dissuasive. Still, the application and functional reach is worthy of respect.
 
The MCU controls all of the expression/ramping/interpolating and MIDI functionality.
That makes sense. With only 128 code-lines per patch, the FV-1s would not not withstand the instruction set.

I thought the Mood's "Clock" feature an interesting aspect.
