Charge Pump Breakout - Boost 18v to 36v?

Hey all,

I wanted to experiment with running some simple transistor gain stage pedals at high voltage. I was wondering if the charge pump module is as simple as doubling the input voltage or if it does any other kind of regulation to make it not go above 18v.

If i plug 18v power supply into the charge pump module will it boost to 36v?

Thanks!

The charge pump data sheet for the pump specified maxes out at 13 v input. There are several other pin compatible pumps, but I don’t think any work at that high a voltage; with luck you’ll get a more definitive answer soon from a forum member that really knows this stuff.

Not as convenient, but you could put 4 nine volt batteries in series, at least to play around. I generally use the 18 v output from my power supply on transistor based drives, and like the added headroom and finer grain.
