Chop Shop J201 on breakout

I ordered some SMD J201's for use in the Chop Shop project. In order to make it work on the PCB I got some SMD adapter boards...never soldered SMD but I'm sure it'll be a fun one

The question I had was on the layout - the breakout board has pins labeled D, S, and G (Drain, Source, Gate). I looked at the datasheet for the J201 (https://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/53142/FAIRCHILD/J201.html), and I think I know which is which, but wanted to confirm.

If I'm looking at the Chop Shop PCB (https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/chopshop/), going from left to right on the J201's, would it be "D", "S", "G"?

Thanks!

That's correct.

You would install the SOT adapter board so the SMD transistor is facing the flat side of the silkscreen on the Chop Shop PCB.

I’m still troubleshooting my Chop Shop build, and I saw that I had this post bookmarked.

My SOT adapter boards are installed on right-angle pin header so the SMD J201 are facing the « bottom/switch side » of the board (see attached pic for orientation). That seems right if I look at the pinout, but from what I’m reading in your comment, should they be facing the other way?
