Current Tayda fees after new tariff?

You can tell they are bored from a lack of orders at Tayda. My custom drilled enclosures are shipping same day, last time only an hour after ordering. They are currently beating any domestic supplier to my door by days.

this. it's the new baseline. even if/when tarrifs stop shipping prices will just be higher because they can be and they know people will just pay it.

Is that the case though? It seems like a lot of people here have stopped shopping at Tayda due to the high shipping prices and uncertainty of tariffs. If their shipping costs do go back down for them, will the extra revenue from inflated shipping prices really level out the lost business from a large chunk of regular customers not buying anymore?

I'm not talking about tayda exclusivley. Carriers like dhl and UPS, fedex and all the other ones set the rates based on various factors. And just like the gas stations, when one raises prices, the others do. I haven't seen shipping prices go down once in the past 25-30 years that I've been shipping/buying things. If the cost to operate is higher for the carriers, they will also pass that burden on to the consumer. once people get used to the new prices thats the new baseline. The tariffs may go away but I doubt the shipping prices will drop drastically. Only those extra fees will stop.
As for tayda, they are just fine. Lots of people are still doing business there as usual, just us broke people have paused.

I'm getting ready to do another Tayda order as well. My past two orders have been from Mouser, where I try to sort thru the components to find ones with no/low tariff. It's a lot easier to just order from Tayda though. Depending on the component and how much quantity I need Tayda is still cheaper even with the Tariffs.
Also, there's a new tariff in place that is set at 10%, which is lower than the previous rate. I spec'd out some resistors and capacitors and my shipping rate was only $17, when it had been $35 before. There is also an additional 25% tariff on semi conductors, but I don't really like to buy transistors and ICs from Tayda due to their comparatively small selection.

I was thinking of waiting to make a big tayda buy at the end of the month. A week ago (I'm in Canada) the shipping w/dutiestax option went up $1. Today it's up another approx $3.50. Made the big order today.
I usually buy pcb's here n there willy nilly then buy a bunch of parts. I think I'll be be buying boards 1 or 2 at a time and parts just for them, or full kits from vendors.

I just placed an order for a big ish restock. I wanted to compare the cost of shipping/tariffs with and without semiconductors. I went through and picked out about $20 of resistors and capacitors and my shipping came out to $21. I then added the op amps, transistors, and diodes I need and my subtotal came up to $45, while shipping only increased to $25.
I'm okay with that. It's better than it was before. A few months ago the shipping cost would have been in the high 30's for this dollar amount.

It won't matter when the world's oil supply is all on fire in another week or two and China decides to go ahead and take Taiwan because rules and norms don't exist anymore and the west is trying to extinguish the flames from agent orange's pedo-disttraction to prevent a world wide recession that will only expidite the adoption of AI to replace human workers and drive the world into a crumbling depression. Rolling blackouts to keep the data centers humming will soon follow.

damn 3 week lead time for tayda enclosures gonna be up to 4 weeks smh
I placed my order on the 1st and it finally shipped on the 18th. They said there would be an 8 to 10 day wait because their orders for painted enclosures were backed up at the time so I knew it would take awhile but at least it's on the way now. They said they had some problems with their lawn green color.
