Delegate compression LED not lighting up.

I get sound in bypass and when the effect is on (level knob works great!), but I wasn't getting any compression. I noticed the LED didn't seem to be illuminating when i opened it up. When plugging in the dc jack, it initially lights up, but then fades, and no signal seems to cause it to illuminate again. Since the LED/LDR are under a pot, i'm hoping this is something I can fix without having to desolder a bunch of stuff.
