Desoldering Saga

Isn’t there the type of desoldering where you dip into a giant vat of molten solder and pull the parts out of the top

I use a hot air station for salvaging components. Put on a movie, set up the PCB clamp on the bench, put in a board, remove the usable bits, toss the board and move onto the next. Not the most fun you'll have in an evening, but not the worst.

Are most of these working? Maybe you could sell some lots of loaded circuits ready to be boxed? You are the Bean, after all......think we can trust your soldering.

No, the vast majority are prototypes. Almost everything I release gets built twice. Usually the first proto has some minor issues that have to be corrected. Sometimes they don't work at all. And, lots of ones that turned out to be bad ideas or I decided not to release. No real value to any of them other than recovering some of the parts eventually.

Me too, and just in case I don't get one, I have one or two other boards that'll take that same Belton brick.

Maybe I should buy a few more bricks and build the boards I have.

I can always bring the Moodring back. I just thought the project had run its course at the time and the BTDR-3 had come out. I've got another design using the BTDR-3 but it's a completely different circuit.
I don’t know if I currently have a BTDR-2 circuit. I have a few 3s though. How would you compare the two? Setting the frequency response with the 3 is a cool feature—but I don’t really change it much after I find a good spot.

that would be cool if you did but I'm only good for one. I don't know what the market for the moodring looks like outside of the few of us with FOMO issues.

If you bring back the mood ring, can you have it be the same but for the BTDR-3 with the addition of depth (maybe the separate pots for the two depth variables like on the VFE stuff) and maybe stereo out?
