Double Muffin Fuzz-- Two Big Muffs in one box

Yeah I was planning to pull out the toggle to try running them in parallel with a single blend control.

Since you mentioned splitting the tone control, it'd actually be cool to split all three controls.... Then you could mix with the volume controls as well.

Oh nice!

Shouldn’t be too hard to rework the board to be a stereo muff if you ditch the toggle switch and rework the I/O pads. All I’m saying is a stereo muff could be preeeeety cool for totally fvcking up stereo synths and stuff

As someone who recently found the 8 VARIATIONS listed in the Muffin Fuzz build doc and was contemplating ordering 7 more Muffin PCB's, I REALLY like this new PCB. I feel like I'll be ordering 4 and then technically owning 2 Green Russian clones...

Oh also, @Robert do you think you could make a board that switches between Op-Amp and Transistor Muff? I’m suddenly hankering to make one that can switch between V4/V5 op amp specs and Guild Foxey Lady specs so I can have Belew & Fripp in the same box.

Looks like this board is already a tight fit, but idk, maybe SMD op amps or 1/8w resistors if the footprint would otherwise be too large for a 125B

Double muffin arrived today but no components silkscreened on the board. Same with Oroideous Drive. When you have a chance, please post BOMs. Have a great holiday and thanks for all you do! New projects lately have been awesome 👍

Yep, BOMs are identical to the Muffin, just pick two variants and populate each side.

A = Toggle Down
B = Toggle Up

3 x B100K Dual Gang pots
1 x DPDT ON/ON toggle

I'll try to get the doc posted later today.

During build, I did notice that there isn’t R24, or C14 or C15. No problem there. Just assume those values aren’t present in the circuit. From the Muffin schematic, D100 is 1N5817, and I assume CLR corresponds with RLED and is a 4.7K resistor as typical. What is C100? I’m guessing 100uf electrolytic?

Fun to build! Really liking this one and would like to do the project again choosing other fuzzes. Admire the layout, especially in the center of the board where the A and B values share the same space.

R24 is only part of the tone-bypass circuit on the regular Muffin fuzz. Since this one doesn’t have a tone bypass switch it’s not relevant. C14 is power filtering cap on the regular muffin fuzz, and probably is what is designated as C100 on the Double Muffin— Robert started designating stuff within the power section (filtering caps, protection diodes, charge pump stuff) with a 1xx suffix at some point.
C15 is also only present in versions with a tone bypass afaik, so it wouldn’t be there for this.
