Duocast: Anyone knows how the SJ1 switch is activated in the power section?

In the Duocast schematic, does anyone know what the SJ1 switch does in the power section? Is it activated manually? Is it always ON? The voltage switch is a SPDT so it is likely in one of the footswitch. I am guessing the bypass-footswitch is turning this switch on when the effect is engaged, and even if so, I would still wonder why it's not always ON? What's the idea with this SJ1 switch,m anyone knows?

Solution
It's a jumper so you can connect pins 1 and 8 of the charge pump together if needed. The LT1054 needs them seperate, ICL7660S and TC1044S need them connected.
Sorry for being late, It looks as if the jumper is connecting pin 1 and 8 of the LT1054 by default. And the LT1054 seems to be the default pump. But the schematic has SJ1 open, indicating a cut.
Should it be cut? Or kept to connect pins 1 and 8?
Thanks in advance
