All the Electro Harmonix pedals like the B9, C9 .... , POG have a Proprietry Circuit that is Patented & only available In House in their pedals.
Another company reverse engineered one of their pedals a few years ago & was sued & they had to pay Big Time for ripping it off.

The infringement was so bold and blatant that Shenzhen Mooer audaciously copied the Electro-Harmonix copyright notice in the software powering the C9 and Micro POG.

I've had a hog v1 on my board since it's was new. I've slowed down some but I was a gigging foo before kids.

I was afraid mine was dying recently and was just lamenting a few weeks ago that I never got around to upgrading to the v2 before they were discontinued. I was honestly starting to convince myself to just go without my favorite octaver. Thankfully I cleaned mine up, deoxit in the jacks and freshened up the patch cables and the v1 is no longer an issue. I'm just glad that there's a non-discontinued option going forward. I will eventually upgrade to the 3 for sure. It's worth that price tag to me.

I have a “POG2” vst and it’s fun but I never used it enough to need a real POG2, my SG-1, octave and eq pedal can get me close enough to the tones I would dial it to, but I admit the tracking isn’t nearly as good,. The 3 seems like it would be fun and I assume it tracks beautifully, but there seems like a lot of extra functions that just step into the DSP multiFX world that they just didn’t need to do to the POG and that price point is kind of a turn off.
