Ain't that the truth!
I have been incredibly lucky because where I live we haven't had Covid. I don't think we've had a single case of community spread Covid. We have had people coming in to our state with Covid but it hasn't spread, so gigs have still happened and life has been fairly normal. But all of that hasn't made getting a band together any easier.
It does get harder once you have kids. We only had one, and my wife is as enthusiastic about live music as I am - maybe more - so we used the gigs as an excuse for our time away from our boy, who would have been asleep while we were out anyway. I was lucky enough to have a regular weekly gig which meant decent money, a regular crowd, and my chops got really good! The venue was great and offered us free drinks for the night (I think our rider only ran out twice in 3 years!) which I could also supply to my wife and friends. And if I could get the right sort of band together I could return to that. But finding the right people... That is the issue.
