So firstly I'll admit to talking smack on the Boss ODB-3. To be fair, it did sound terrible on that rig 20 years ago when my brother gifted me one. Brittle, not particularly dynamic, in dire need of mids controls, just never really liked any sound from it. @jeffwhitfield and @Guardians of the analog both posted up builds of this circuit that equally nudged me toward the "add to cart" button. Thanks, dudes! It does sound excellent. I used it a ton at a rehearsal today. I put it after my octaves, subs, and at the end of my dirt pedals. Seemed to play nice with almost everything. The clean gain knob is certainly interesting. So far I keep it pretty cranked and the dirt gain knob a bit past noon. I look forward to exploring that further.
It's just a light to medium gain, bass-happy dirt with most of the added features lending great flexibility. The inclusion of the mids knob landed this bad boy a spot on the pedal board. It is replacing my chopshop, the versatility is just very very handy but not as overwhelming as some circuits with this many controls can be.

@Feral Feline , I finally used that "wood cut vacuum tube" ai image.

Also here's a rehouse of 2 staples in my pedal diet. I didn't love how the gold 125b enclosure turned out on my Chuck D. Bones bass klon so I built up another, this time on the kliche mini SE board so I could do some diode swapping and comparison. Also diagonal knobs are fun. I ended up landing on these d18 so it's mojo time!

i also came to the realization that my first build sounded better overall with any/every set of diodes. I was surprised since the new one had more of the wima/Panasonic caps and the fatter dirtier one was built with cheapest bits I could get.

C'est la vie, the older kliche mini got pulled from its 125b and got combined with this mutilated ocelot. I cut the pots out and soldered a bridge to max out the oct1 pot and then added a fuzzdog fat pig (ehx mole) on the end. I had read somewhere that lowering the value of a cap would let more treble in so I put caps on an on-off-on toggle to change a 100nf cap to 33nf, 66nf, or 99nf. It's pretty subtle but I don't regret it. Sounds awesome and can get waaay too loud

I like the bass klon with the gain up and early in my dirt section so it felt like the perfect transition pedal from one type to the next. It sounds good slamming my fuzzes but combining it with the GCI N.E.W. BASS OD moderately driven with a good amount of clean mixed in is my new favorite thing.

Forgot to take a final gut shot but this one was really close to the finish line. Just imagine that the wiring looks better but like... only a little better.
