Many PPCB forum's thread, including this one, have some educational objectives. Hopefully, some of the threads will still be visited 30 years from now.
Don't we sometimes read threads from 2007on diystompboxes.com ?
Is it how you speak and teach about white washers to the next generations of pedal builders ?
Having a good laugh is one thing. Sneering about plastic washers is a very different matter.
Surely i don't need to remind you the 6th article of the Civil Code ?
"One Cannot derogate, by particular conventions, from the Laws which relate to public Order and good Morals."

			If we start letting standards...

...slip on this simple thing, next thing we know it’ll be rats nest wiring on the inside. Wait…

We can agree on the fact that letting standards slip is indeed a dangerous slope. Based on well-known solid scientific evidence (see reply #21), I am not sure your standards are absolutely correct though... I wonder what Analog Mike would think, if he could read your comments about his way of life...
As a matter of fact, every build reports we can see without 3PDT plastic washer are a bit blurry, out of focus, often with spaghetti wiring, suspicious soldering, hasty artwork, and of course wrong knobs.
Throughout the history of humanity, plastic washers have inspired many brilliant engineers.
First steering wheel, first watch, toilet seat, wedding ring, Weetos cereals, etc. All based on the white washer's shape...
There are also many exemples in litterature :
"We must not confuse what we are and what society has made of us." Here Theodor W. Adorno was quoting a famous plastic washer.
Even the Sun and the Moon are taking lessons from our plastic rings. Both aren't perfect yet, but one day hopefully they will finally be empty in the middle.
What will you say then ? "The sun is ugly" ? "The moon has a cheap look" ? "They both need chrome metal bezels" ?
Let's just be reasonable here...
